Description

Capitol Broadcasting Company is looking for a motivated HR Generalist to support the organization’s human resources operations by managing key HR functions, including recruiting, employee relations, compliance, benefits administration, and performance management. This position is responsible for implementing HR policies and practices that support the company’s mission and ensure legal compliance. The HR Generalist works closely with employees and managers to foster a positive work environment and maintain efficient HR processes. 
  
Key Responsibilities 
1. Recruitment & Talent Acquisition 
  • Full-Cycle Recruitment: Coordinate recruitment activities, including job postings, resume screening, interview scheduling, and reference checks. 
  • Candidate Experience: Ensure a smooth and engaging candidate experience through proactive communication and updates. 
  • Onboarding Process: Conduct new employee orientations, covering essential policies, culture, and job-specific training requirements. 
2. Employee Relations 
  • Conflict Resolution: Address and mediate employee relations issues, ranging from interpersonal conflicts to performance concerns. 
  • Policy Enforcement: Provide guidance on company policies and ensure that disciplinary actions align with organizational and legal standards. 
  • Complaint Investigation: Conduct thorough investigations of employee complaints, document findings, and work with management to resolve issues. 
3. Benefits Administration 
  • Employee Education: Organize informational sessions to educate employees on benefits options, eligibility, and enrollment procedures. 
4. HR Compliance 
  • Employment Law Knowledge: Maintain a comprehensive understanding of federal, state, and local labor laws and ensure company policies comply with all regulations (e.g., FMLA, ADA, FLSA, EEOC).. 
  • Record-Keeping: Maintain employee records, including personal information, performance, and disciplinary documentation, ensuring data accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance. 
  • Audits & Reporting: Prepare for and participate in HR audits, generate regular HR reports (e.g., headcount, turnover), and analyze data to identify trends and improvements. 
7. HR Policy & Process Improvement 
  • Policy Creation & Updates: Assist in developing and implementing HR policies that align with company values and operational needs. 
  • Process Optimization: Identify areas for improvement in HR processes (e.g., recruitment, onboarding) and recommend solutions to increase efficiency and enhance employee experience. 
  • Employee Communication: Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries, policy clarifications, and HR guidance, ensuring consistent and clear communication. 
8. Culture & Employee Engagement Initiatives 
  • Engagement Programs: Plan and execute engagement programs, including employee recognition events, team-building activities, and health & wellness initiatives. 
  • Diversity & Inclusion: Promote diversity and inclusion through programs, training, and community involvement. 
Qualifications 
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. 
  • Experience: 
  • Minimum 2-5 years of HR experience, preferably in a generalist role. 
  • Experience with HR software systems (e.g., HRIS, ATS) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. 
  • Minimum 2-5 years' experience with high volume recruiting.  
  • Certifications: 
  • PHR, SHRM-CP, or other relevant HR certifications preferred but not required.

Physical Demands:   
  • The role primarily involves working in an office environment, using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and filing systems. 
  • Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods. 
  • Occasional light lifting of office supplies or recruiting materials (up to 20 lbs). 
  • May require minimal travel to attend hiring events or job fairs (if applicable). 
  • The role may involve prolonged periods of typing and data entry.
