Strategic Accounts Manager

WRAL and FOX50-TV have an opening for a Senior Account Manager to join dynamic sales team. This person will be responsible for managing and growing revenue through strategic partnerships. This role involves maintaining relationships with existing accounts, identifying new business opportunities, and developing customized advertising solutions for clients, while achieving station revenue goals.

Responsibilities:
- Client Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of high-value clients, proving exceptional account management and building long-term relationships.
- Understand client’ business objectives and marketing strategies to create tailored solutions using all WRAL’s platforms, including broadcast, OTT, digital and social media.
- Ensure timely deliver and execution of client campaigns, optimizing performance based on real-time analytics.
- Revenue Growth
- Develop and implement strategies to grow existing accounts and secure new clients.
- Work closely with the sales team to meet and exceed sales targets by generating incremental revenue from cross-platform opportunities.
- Identify untapped market segments and create customized sales pitches for new business prospects.
- Strategic Planning
- Keep up to date with industry trends, television ratings, and audience analytics to make data-driving recommendations.
- Proactively seek opportunities for account growth by introducing innovative solutions, including programmatic advertising and digital integrations.
- Regularly report sales pipeline and forecast revenue to senior management.
- Team Leadership and Collaboration
- Mentor junior sales staff and assist with their professional development.
- Work cross-functionally with internal teams to ensure seamless campaign execution and client satisfaction.
- Serve as a liaison between clients and internal stakeholders to resolve any campaign-related issues.
- Reporting and Analysis
- Provide detailed post-campaign reports and insights to clients, highlighting ROI, performance metrics, and areas for improvements.
- Maintain accurate records of account performance, sales activity, and client communications in CRM Software.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support organizational operations and goals.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in media sales, account management, or a similar role within the television industry.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Strong understanding of television ratings, advertising trends, OTT and digital media.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Proficiency in software and media buying platforms.
- Experience working in television news or broadcast environments preferred.
- Familiarity with programmatic advertising, digital marketing strategies, and multi-platform campaign management preferred.
- Ability to build relationships with senior-level decision makers and navigate complex sales cycles.
Recommended Skills and Attributes:
- Proficiency in the broadcast specific software such as Wide Orbit Traffic, Wide Orbit Media Sales, Matrix, and ePort.
- Comfort with the Microsoft Office suite.
- Strong data-entry skills.
- Self-motivated with the confidence see problems and solve them.
- Strong customer service skills.
