The Head of Graphics is a managerial role for the creation, development and deployment of engaging visual designs, illustrations, logos, layouts and animations that reflect the AJ+ brand, its values, and its products on various social platforms.

The role is responsible for both graphics and creation workflows. Will need to work closely with the creative manager, head of production and other editorial managers. Communication with the engineering team may be needed to ensure that the production workflow runs smoothly. The role will require maintaining communication between both in-house and field producers, editors, graphics team, studio staff and shooters.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Play a leading role in the establishment of brand-building strategies across all AJ+ products
  • Assist in building a team of competitive graphic artists and
  • Study editorial design briefs and determine requirements
  • Schedule projects and define budget constraints
  • Conceptualize visuals based on requirements
  • Strong leadership and team building abilities to provide guidance and art direction to the graphics team
  • Oversee the creative process, provide guidance and motivation to the creative team, and approve all creative work
  • Ensure deadlines are met
  • Lead brainstorming sessions, oversee project management and manage stakeholder relationships
  • Work collaboratively with the creative manager to ensure that creative outputs meet goals
  • Maintain quality control on all deliverables
  • Understand digital video content and develop creative points of view to frame up and address challenges
  • Collaborate with the head of production and producers to generate publications
  • Serve as a member of the senior leadership team

Education & Experience:

8-10 years of experience working in a creative role, driving creative process, graphic design and brand development
