About the role:

Join a team dedicated to building and sustaining a world-class Storage environment that is highly available, resilient, and future-ready. As Staff Storage Engineer, you’ll play a role to support companywide Storage and Virtualization environments as part of Global IT team. This is more than a hands-on engineering role — you will be expected to think at a systems level, influence cross-functional decisions, and elevate the capabilities of those around you.
This role will play a key part in addressing complex and high-impact storage challenges across data centers and office locations, driving significant improvements in reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency. Provides guidance and expertise to management and users on topics surrounding strategy and best practices. Solves complex problems and takes a new perspective on existing solutions. Exercises judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information. Advanced individual contributor who works on highly complex problems, tasks, or projects.

What you will get to do:
  • Define and drive the long-term storage architecture and strategy across enterprise environments.
  • Design, implement, and manage enterprise storage infrastructure across NetApp, Dell PowerScale, and HPE Alletra platforms.
  • Architect and manage SAN fabric environments using Brocade switches, overseeing zoning, performance monitoring, and health governance.
  • Own end-to-end storage and SAN migration planning and execution across heterogeneous environments, ensuring zero data loss and minimal downtime.
  • Lead virtualization infrastructure integration and optimization across Nutanix and VMware platforms.
  • Strong operational knowledge of both Unix/Linux and Windows environments to drive cross-platform data movement initiatives leveraging tools such as rsync, Robocopy, and native array replication technologies.
  • Proactively monitor storage environments to detect and resolve performance bottlenecks and capacity risks before they impact operations.
  • Provide the highest tier of technical escalation support for critical storage incidents, leading root cause analysis and long-term remediation.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, and application teams to deliver integrated, end-to-end solutions.
  • Mentor senior and junior engineers, establish technical standards, and foster a culture of engineering excellence.
  • Own and maintain storage documentation, runbooks, architecture diagrams, and operational procedures to an enterprise standard.
  • Participate in on-call support and major incident response when required.

Who we are looking for:
Must have:
Enterprise Storage & SAN:
  • Deep, hands-on expertise with NetApp (ONTAP), Dell PowerScale (Isilon), and HPE Alletra / 3PAR storage platforms — design, deployment, management, and tuning.
  • Advanced proficiency in Brocade SAN switch management, including fabric zoning, ISL configuration, performance monitoring, and proactive health checks.
  • Extensive, proven experience leading complex storage and SAN migrations across heterogeneous environments, with a strong track record of ensuring data integrity and minimal business disruption.
  • Strong understanding of SAN fabric best practices for high availability, redundancy, and performance optimization.
Virtualization:
  • Solid hands-on experience with VMware vSphere / vCenter, including datastore management, storage vMotion, VAAI integration, and performance optimization.
  • Practical experience with Nutanix HCI, including AOS storage management, distributed storage fabric, and integration with enterprise storage arrays.
  • Ability to architect and troubleshoot storage-compute integration across both VMware and Nutanix environments.
Operating Systems & Data Movement:
  • Working knowledge of Linux (RHEL, Ubuntu, or equivalent), including filesystem management, LVM, NFS/CIFS mounts, performance tuning, and storage troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in Windows Server environments, including NTFS permissions, DFS, SMB shares, and storage integration.
  • Hands-on experience with data transfer and migration tooling such as rsync, Robocopy, and array-native replication tools for large-scale, reliable data movement across platforms.

Nice to have:
  • Experience with cloud or object storage platforms (AWS S3, Azure Blob, or similar).
  • Familiarity with backup and data protection technologies such as Commvault, Veeam, or NetBackup.
  • Knowledge of ITIL practices and structured change management processes.

What will make you successful:
  • The ability to operate with senior-level autonomy, driving outcomes independently across complex, multi-platform environments.
  • Strong architectural thinking — ability to design solutions that balance reliability, scalability, and cost over the long term.
  • Exceptional troubleshooting instincts with the ability to rapidly diagnose and resolve high-impact issues under pressure.
  • Clear, confident communication skills — able to translate complex technical topics for both engineering and non-technical audiences.
  • A proactive, ownership-oriented mindset — you identify gaps before they become problems and take initiative to fix them.
