About the role:
We at Autostage and Music Metadata, projects within Xperi, are looking for a Staff DevOps Engineer to manage the cloud infrastructure, help deliver new features of our products and help finding efficient and elegant solutions to our operating challenges.
Autostage is a global API servicing the automotive industry which provides enhanced services for radio, audio and video content to vehicles across the globe and Music Metadata supplies music-related data to industry-leading clients such as Pandora, Google and Microsoft, who use it to enrich their customers’ search and listening experiences.
The two products are built on a modern event-driven, microservices-based architecture deployed on Google Cloud with extensive use of Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform, Github, and modern CI/CD tooling. Our products are consumed by millions of clients each day, with planned increases to tens or even hundreds of millions of clients in the near future. This role will involve close interaction with the core API development team and Music Metadata development team in a modified Agile/Scrum development methodology.
What you will get to do:
- Manage GCP Cloud infrastructure using Terraform
- Diagnose high and low level performance issues in a highly distributed environment
- Manage and develop GKE Kubernetes clusters
- Use, improve existing monitoring systems
- Identify time consuming tasks and automate them
- Design and deploy new systems needed for product features
- Maintain standards of security, reliability, performance and quality
- Research best practices and technologies and implement them into your day-to-day work
Who we are looking for:
Must have:
- 5+ years of relevant industry experience
- Strong experience with Kubernetes
- Strong experience with Linux in production environments
- Experience with time series based monitoring systems
- Experience with coding in Terraform
- Experience managing infrastructure with a major cloud provider, GCP most preferably
- Experience writing automations in Python or similar scripting language
Nice to have:
- Experience with Helm
- Experience managing Elasticsearch clusters
- Continuous Integration platforms (Codeship)
- Monitoring and logging tools (Datadog, Prometheus, ELK)
- Virtual application and web servers (Apache, NGINX)
