Program Overview

P4G – Partnering for Green Growth and the Global Goals 2030 –  is a new initiative, commenced in 2018, with the ambition of becoming the world’s leading forum for developing concrete public-private partnerships at scale to deliver on the SDGs and the Paris Climate Agreement. We bring together business, government, and civil society organizations in innovative public-private partnerships to advance solutions that help meet humanity’s greatest needs in five key areas: food and agriculture, water, energy, cities and circular economy.

Job Summary

You will work at the cutting edge of public private partnerships (PPPs) that are advancing global green growth. Reporting to the Head of Partnerships you will support the development of the vision for implementing P4G's strategies and plans related to partnership facilitation, development and assessment. This is a two-year assignment with the possibility of extension.

Your principle responsibilities will be to lead the acceleration of the P4G Hub’s focus PPPs toward their stated goals based on their theory of change (ToC) and the evolving political and economic landscape.  You will work within the Partnerships teams, and coordinate with the Engagement and Operations teams to create an annual facilitation plan.  You will maintain the tools to ensure that this plan is well understood and coordinated across internal and external stakeholders and is adjusted as needed based on an adaptive management approach.

Using the P4G network and your own network you will also cultivate a pipeline of prospective partnerships, and actively participate in and contribute to the evaluation and selection of our partnerships on an annual basis.

The P4G Team consists of a global, fast-paced and dynamic P4G set of individual and organizations, with whom you will work to cultivate, coordinate and manage the critical needs of each of our focus partnership.

You will also be the designated Hub project manager for each of the focus PPPs.  There will be multiple opportunities for you to facilitate workshops and meetings, and/or present on P4G’s approach, mission and partnerships at events throughout each year.

The majority of your time will be spent coordinating our acceleration/facilitation services across multiple events and engagements for each PPP P4G’s acceleration/facilitation services include the following:

  1. Jointly developing and/or improving PPP’s analytical framework, tools, and guidelines for capturing partnership ToC and optimizing their system change impacts
  2. Providing commercial insights and operational expertise to sharpen and enable commercialization of the partnership models
  3. Acceleration workshops, pitch sessions, and other profiling opportunities at catalytic events put on by P4G and partner organization events, including for example the following: The P4G Summit (every other year), UNGA Week, the World Food Summit, the World Circular Economy Forum, the World Economic Forum in Davos (and other locations), SE4All Annual Conferences, Stockholm Water Week / World Water Forum and others as appropriate and as determined by the Hub annually.
  4. Political and coalition mobilization to influence needed change in the policy and regulatory environment
  5. Connections through and support from National Platforms, Organizational Partners and P4G funders
  6. Telling partnership stories and building partnership brand and profile through communication support (i.e., strategy consultation, P4G website, monthly newsletters, social media push and press release)
  7. Sharing best practices and creating synergies through State-of-the-Art Reports and Communities of Excellence

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate our acceleration/facilitation services across multiple events and engagements for each PPP
  • Maintain, update or create tools to enable the management and coordination of the Hub’s acceleration and facilitation services
  • Manage commercialization consultant and facilitation consultants if and as needed
  • Lead critical analysis of each PPP’s ToC based on a political economy approach. You will work with each partnership to conduct this analysis jointly, including any external consultants or stakeholders as needed or appropriate. Based on this analysis you will work with the partners to craft the P4G Hub facilitation plan, and then manage and coordinate the implementation of this plan based on an adaptive management principles, with frequent progress reviews, changes of direction if/as needed, and lessons learned sessions.
  • Conduct original financial, business, or economic analysis of the PPPs, providing this advice to the PPPs, the Hub, National Platforms and others on an as needed basis.
  • Create and present on topics related to P4G and our partnerships at multiple events and in multiple media, including: internal and external webinars, conferences and meetings.
  • Contribute to the P4G State of the Art Report, lead or contribute to other publications, blogs or other means of conveying the impact and outcomes of our PPPs in the overall green growth marketplace.
  • Designated Hub project manager for each of the focus PPPs.
  • Maintain the learning culture of the P4G Hub within the P4G partnerships team.

Job Qualifications

  • Three+ years of relevant, full-time work experience
  • Master’s degree preferred, or bachelor's degree with two+ additional years of relevant experience
  • Strong expertise in finance and/or business, with either an MBA, Finance, Engineering or similar degree. If you do not have a business or finance degree you must demonstrate an equivalent business or finance experience in a commercial work setting. Strong experience in structured finance, project finance or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated knowledge or expertise in one or more of our technical sectors is desired, these include: Food and Agriculture, Energy, Water, Cities, and the Circular Economy.
  • Superb interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work collegially with others and with the highest standards of integrity
  • Demonstrated experience creating original presentations and speaking at professional/technical conferences, forum, etc
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively and efficiently facilitate workshops
  • Experience working in challenging, cross-sectoral, multi-cultural, fast-paced environments
  • International experience strongly preferred, especially in one of P4G’s partner countries
  • Superb interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work collegially with others and with the highest standards of integrity

  • An appetite for adventure, a strong entrepreneurial spirit, and a keen sense of principled development.
