Program Overview for Sustainable Cities and Transport

Through applied research, tools, hands-on advice, and by tapping our network of global experts, we accelerate transformative urban initiatives that have the power to change Indian cities into thriving, equitable and low-carbon places that are good for people and the planet.

How your day will unfold:    
•           Support efforts to analyze existing information and collect new data, when required, to develop joint research products for developing the urban mobility dashboard.
•           Expected to work on data mining and data wrangling of Government departments data sheets and other primary and secondary sources available.
•           Assist in researching current landscape of mobility metrics, public transportation, road networks and global dashboards for comparison.
•           Coordinate with govt agencies, experts, civil society on qualitative data collection and stakeholder consultations.
•           Communicating research findings in diverse formats suitable for stakeholders in government, private and non-government sectors, with a focus on influencing policy and practice 
      
Qualifications and requirements we seek:    
  • Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Environmental Science, Earth Sciences, Geomatics, Geoinformatics, Remote Sensing or other related fields, Master’s degree preferred 

    Recent graduate / 1 year of relevant work experience in the Geospatial industry
    Proficiency in GIS software including ESRI ArcGIS Desktop 10.x, ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Online, Quantum GIS, MapInfo or similar
    Experience with coding, particularly Python, R, Javascript
    Experience with Google Earth Engine is a strong plus
    Experience in spatial analysis and modeling (e.g., use of ArcGIS Spatial Analyst tools, Model Builder, Python scripting, SQL or equivalent)
    Experience in handling publicly available GIS datasets, crowd-sourcing platforms such as Open Street Maps and remote-sensing databases 
Salary and Benefits: INR 6,50,000 CTC

Salary shall be commensurate with experience and skills. WRI offers a generous and comprehensive benefits package.

Location: Delhi, Mumbai, Other India Cities

Duration: 1 year (Extendable based on performance and project requirements)
