Program Overview:

The Land Accelerator South Asia is a unique initiative designed by the WRI India to strengthen entrepreneurial opportunities, enhance local livelihoods and incomes, and protect and restore India’s forests and farmlands. This first-of-its-kind program for South Asia was launched in 2020 to foster entrepreneurship through a unique accelerator curriculum and support leaders who develop sustainable and profitable business models to restore lands across South Asia. About your role:

WRI India’s Sustainable Landscapes and Restoration program aims to protect, maintain and restore landscapes to secure livelihoods of 700 million people directly dependent on forests and agriculture and strengthen India’s environmental well-being.
As part of this program, WRI India is looking to recruit an exceptional candidate for the Land Accelerator South Asia with master’s degree or diploma in the field of management/ finance/Economics with 5-7 years of full time, relevant post-study work experience. Exposure to the Indian Entrepreneurial Ecosystem and corresponding understanding will be an additional advantage. The position is most suited to an individual willing to take on the challenge of contributing to a unique, fast growing, and innovative program. Her/his responsibilities will include:

How your day will unfold:

• Contribute actively towards the program management of the Land Accelerator South Asia by leading the logistics and day to day execution of business acceleration activities in physical as well as online format for replicating the learnings and experiences in implementing other parallel initiatives. • Contribute actively towards the new and emerging landscape restoration initiatives launched, that focus upon building capacities of entrepreneurs, farmers/FPOs, SMEs, local communities etc. in developing innovative land restoration business models across India.
• Support the development of research framework and data collection tools (Online and offline Surveys, polls etc.) for assessment of program KPIs, existing and potential market opportunities for entrepreneurs to scale-up, program reporting etc.
• Identify relevant stakeholders for program outreach and promotion, apart from the already existing pool and development of strategies and implementation plans with focus on core accelerator activities ( like outreach, onboarding the cohort, program curriculum, mentorship, fundraising/investment etc.)
• Support the team in organising stakeholder interactions, (identifying new as well as building on existing relations)coordinating with program partners, ecosystem partners and follow-ups, as per the scope.
• Identify existing and new fund-raising opportunities (Public and Private) for early-stage land restoration entrepreneurs and facilitate them to explore multiple platforms for accessing financial support to scaleup.
• Write and edit material including blog posts, op-eds, articles and other compelling communications at short notice, that serves to translate technical material for various audiences.
• Support the team in carrying out research, data analyses and subsequent documentation on different aspects of business acceleration for early-stage enterprises like key land restoration business models, knowledge products, brochures, compendiums etc.

Qualifications and requirements we seek:

• Master’s Degree or diploma in the field of management/ finance/economics.
• 5-7 years of full time, relevant post-study work experience. Exposure to the Indian Entrepreneurial Ecosystem and corresponding understanding will be an additional advantage.
• Passion for social innovation and capacity building.
• Knowledge of business finance and economics to help team in understanding the business viability of different and diverse innovative restoration business models.
• Demonstrated ability to work both independently as well as part of an interdisciplinary team.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills. The candidate is expected to bring exceptional communication skills to support interdisciplinary, inter-programmatic, geographically dispersed teams in program planning, communication and working with entrepreneurs to build their pitching and presentation skills.
• Flexible and self-motivated, with capacity to multi-task and prioritize, a self-starter having ability to manage the tasks with minimum guidance
ability to meet tight deadlines and work in a high-paced environment.

Location: Delhi, India

Duration: 1 year (extendable based on performance and project requirements)

Start Date: 1 April 2023

Salary and Benefits:  11,00,000 INR to 13,00,000 INR CTC Per annum

Salary shall be commensurate with experience and skills. WRI offers a generous and comprehensive benefits package.
