Salary Range: $57.81 - $78.16

Job Summary
The Staff Speech Pathologist will provide professional Speech Pathology services specific to patient's age and diagnosis including evaluation, planning individual patient care programs, treatments, documentation, educating patient and family, conferring with other professional and performing other related duties as required. Will work in a variety of settings including all floors of the acute care hospital. Patients will include adult inpatient and outpatients, with potential coverage of NICU patients. Workdays are variable 4- 10 hour days with weekend component.

In addition to performing the essential functions listed below, may also be assigned other duties as required. 

Educational Requirements
  • Master's degree in Communication Disorders / Speech Language Pathology. 

Work Experience
  • Successful completion of Clinical Fellowship Year.
  • 2+ years of experience in acute care setting is desired.
  • Caseload includes acute care, neuro, geriatric and Level II trauma patient population in both inpatient and outpatient care.
  • Experience in Level 1 or 2 Trauma Hospital preferred.
  • Experience with FEES, MBS, PMV.
  • Neonatal patient experience or completion of related continuing education preferred.

License and Certification
  • Current CA license issued by the State of CA Department of Consumer Affairs, Speech Pathology and Audiology Examining Committee.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence issued by the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • Current Basic Life Support Provider certificate from the American Heart Association.

  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of Speech Pathology.
  • Familiar with standard Speech Pathology equipment.
  • Ability to analyze situations and take appropriate action.
  • Ability to express oneself clearly in speaking and writing.

  • Collaborative professional open to learning and participation with an experienced team.
  • Open to constructive feedback and coaching.
