Visionist is seeking a Procurement Specialist to perform and manage all corporate and program related procurement needs. As a Procurement Specialist, you work directly with corporate staff and program managers to fulfill purchasing needs following approved procurement processes. Additionally, you will oversee the entire procurement process and manage the full lifecycle from request to receipt and accountability for all items, providing status and analysis to project control.

Responsibilities:
- Support government contracts and corporate needs for goods and service procurement
- Provide frequent expert procurement opinions to Program Managers and supporting activities
- Negotiate price and terms and conditions with suppliers, analyze bids for best value, and complete the selection process
- Prepare status reports and submit supporting documentation necessary for customer invoices and contract compliance
- Provide program control, business operations and account management support including storage, labor, material, and freight estimates and providing status reporting
- Provide program control support for Other Direct Cost (ODC) budgets for government contracts and provide reports to management.
- Determine budgets and submit for approval
- Ensure receipt of goods and/or services, monitor backlog, adjust schedules for overdue shipments, review invoices and submit payment requests, approve payments in corporate systems
- Tag new purchases and update inventory system; work with Programs to coordinate transfer and disposal of equipment
- Maintain documentation and schedule for software license renewals and service agreements as needed
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- 7 years' experience to include lab management, materials management, procurement and/or logistics support
- Experience using MS Office products, including proficient use of Microsoft Excel
- Understanding for how to search for IT based products, make best cost decisions, purchase items using online or vendor direct methods, and track purchases through their lifecycle
- Highly organized, detail-oriented individual with ability to multi-task and track a variety of purchases in various states
- Experience coordinating reconciliation with accounting, handling returns and exchanges, and creating purchasing reports and metrics
- Understanding of asset inventory, asset management systems, and managing inventory status
- Excellent interpersonal skills, proven verbal and written communications, and the ability to work on multi-functional teams
