Description

• Define the responsibilities and direct the activities performed by Application Engineering – Tool Technology. This includes delegation of projects/assignments, setting priorities, enforcing company and departmental policies, and measuring goal achievement.
• Use employee performance appraisals as a personal development tool to provide goals, direction and guidance for group members.
• Continuous self-education of Pipe fabrication industry (products, industry trends, etc.) and sharing of this information with Application Engineering Group members under your direction. Pro-actively support new business opportunities for responding to our customer’s needs.
• Serve as an internal resource to developmental engineers, marketing, manufacturing and executive management with respect to product issues, and industry trends, representing the customer’s needs.
• Responsible for technical aspects of training classes, seminars and sessions with customers, Victaulic engineers, sales and sales support personnel to educate them on the features and benefits of our products and services
• Responsible for managing product performance/liability issues.  This includes directing Warranty Claims analysis, performing or delegating field investigations, raising awareness of critical issues needing corrective action, coordinating service bulletin activities where field replacement of products/components is required, reviewing and revising installation instructions, defending the company in legal/insurance actions, and working with QA for continual improvement/permanent solutions.
• Work with other Application Engineering Groups' domestic and international product engineers to keep them advised of new developments in your market area. Use these members as a resource to assist your Group in times of resource shortages.  Also, keep your team members up to date on other market developments for their use in times of personnel shortages.
• Serve as a consultant to customers and sales representatives regarding Victaulic product features, benefits, and applications. When necessary, make joint calls with sales personnel to customer's facilities to address technical inquiries and seminars.
• Lead departmental staff/QWG meetings to integrate the QIP principles into daily activities and encourage continuous improvement.

• Specific policies and procedures have been established by the Engineering Department to provide for the security and accessibility of electronic data and confidential information. It is the responsibility of the employee, in the daily course of doing business, to follow said policies as they relate to document management (see EOG-26). The extent to which departmental research and development information is stored electronically has vastly increased, and will continue to do so. The new Federal rules pertaining to electronic discovery stipulate that substantive email communications constituted "records" under the Federal Records Act. It is therefore the responsibility of each departmental employee to understand their role in communicating via e-mails and that all e-mails must be written/responded to in a professional manner.  

• Engineering Degreed Preferred.
