Technical Trainer
Description
Victaulic is seeking a dedicated Trainer to join our team. In this role, you will evaluate employees to identify and address weaknesses in production skills, and conduct training tailored to individual skill levels. You will work closely with shop employees to develop new skills in the manufacturing process, including coating, and present technical data and training requirements. Encouraging employees to pursue training and identifying potential candidates for progression will be key aspects of your role. You will track employee success and progress, assist in communicating training programs, and prepare and deliver manufacturing training sessions, measuring their effectiveness based on success rates.
Additionally, you will teach welding skills in carbon and stainless plate, pipe welding using GMAW-P and GTAW, and help develop employees on the operation of specific machinery. Maintaining records for forklift and crane certifications, assisting with the FEM/5S program, and having experience with robotic welding programming are also important responsibilities.

Responsibilities:
- Evaluate employees and identify weaknesses in production skills.
- Identify and conduct training needs according to individual skill levels.
- Work alongside with shop employees to develop new skills in the manufacturing process (including coating).
- Present the technical data and supply training requirements to employees through PowerPoint presentations and short videos.
- Encourage employees for training and identify potential candidates for progression.
- Track employee success and progress.
- Assist in rollout and communication of all the training programs on a timely basis.
- Prepare and deliver manufacturing training sessions and measure effectiveness of training program based on success rate.
- Teach employees welding skills in carbon and stainless plate, pipe welding using FMAW-P and FTAW.
- Train and help develop employees on operation of specific machinery.
- Train and upkeep records for forklift and crane certifications.
- Assist with FEM/5S program as needed.
Qualifications (education, experience, skills, personal attributes):
- High School Diploma
- Experience in a manufacturing/steel fabrication environment required.
- Computer literacy of Microsoft Windows software such as Microsoft Office Suite preferred.
- Working knowledge of arc welding processes for carbon, stainless and alloy metals preferred.
- Familiarity with liquid and powder type coatings preferred.
- Familiarity with ASTM specifications, AWWA standards and AWS/ASME welding codes desired.
- Good understanding of shop math (fraction to decimal) and ability to read tape measure, and measuring tools (caliper, micrometers) preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints desired.
- Good written and oral communication skills required.
- Good problem-solving capabilities desired.
- Must be able to work independently, efficiently and be self-motivated and detail oriented.
- Robotic welding experience with programing preferred
