1. Ensure all employees understand and abide by all Company safety rules, regulations, and policies. Ensure that safe and sanitary working conditions are maintained in the facility in accordance with Company standards, as well as, state & federal laws and regulations. Ensure all employees understand their OSHA rights. Conduct safety training topics as required or needed. Responsible for scheduling employees to attend all assigned safety meetings, toolbox talks, and safety training sessions. Promptly investigate all accidents and near misses, completing appropriate reports and taking action to eliminate root causes.
2. Shipping/Receiving: Supervise and coordinate unloading of inbound shipments, orderly stacking of product, and picking and staging of outbound shipments in accordance with the highest possible levels of service and productivity.
3. Scheduling: Participate in establishing work schedules. Ensure that the schedules are correctly implemented and that jobs are assigned effectively and completed properly.
4. Safety, Equipment: Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area. Ensure the efficient and safe operation of all materials handling equipment. Conduct operations in a manner which promotes safety.
5. Labor Management: Lead employees in the Quality Improvement Process and support/facilitate the continued efforts of the Quality Process. Direct the operations of the warehouse work team to achieve prescribed objectives. Develop and maintain a productive work team by creating an environment which promotes professional development. Match the skill and background of personnel to the work required. Apply sound communication and motivational techniques.
6. Records: Complete all necessary records and reports in a timely and accurate fashion.
Qualifications: (education, experiences personal attributes) :
1. High school degree required, college preferred.
2. High level of communication and inter-personal skills.
3. Self-motivated, self-reliant team builder and trainer.
4. A minimum of two years previous supervisory and warehousing exp.
