POSITION :       MACHINIST - 3D TOOLPATH PROGRAMMER - PATTERNMAKER / MODELER 

LOCATION:       Victaulic TECHNICAL CENTER (ALBURTIS, PA)

REPORTS TO:  TECHNICAL CENTER SUPERVISOR OF OPERATIONS

VICTAULIC TECHNICAL CENTER:

The Technical Center builds and maintains fully machined tool steel patterns for Victaulic facilities worldwide. Located in Alburtis, PA

JOB SUMMARY:

Proficiency in the broad scope of machining skill sets of both traditionally manual, and advanced CNC operations provides a basic background supporting efficient 3D toolpath generation. This position is primarily involved in creating new and subsequent adjustment toolpaths to efficiently produce 3D pattern impressions.

• Read blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, and interpret GD&T
• Use micrometers, calipers, indicators, and all commonly applied measuring tools with familiarity of close tolerance dimensioning.
• Utilization of math functions including trigonometry describing 3D shapes both manually and within CAD environments is fundamental.
• Experience in Solidworks and Mastercam modeling and toolpath software are primary assets to our operations. (Certification and credentials are welcomed advantages.)
• Set up and operate CNC machines including writing and editing G code and M code programs as required would be value added experiences when needed.         
• Proficiency in taking measurements, detecting malfunctions, troubleshooting processes, adjusting, and editing programs with continuous improvement in mind is imperative.
• Operate an overhead crane and drive a forklift as needed.
• CNC Machinery experience includes 3 axis vertical mill (primarily) and lathe
• Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
• Maintain equipment using preventative maintenance.
• Maintain an organized and clean work environment.
• Experience in 3D or 3 axis plus metal patternmaking preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Required to lift 50 lbs.
• Moderate walking, standing, lifting, carrying, bending, kneeling, and reaching. Work around moving objects, and with machinery with moving parts.

SKILLS AND EDUCATION:

• 2+ Years Technical schooling preferred.
• 5+ years on the job experience preferred.
• Mastercam Mill 3 and Solids experience required. Certifications are a benefit.
• Solidworks modeling experience is an advantage. Credentials are beneficial.
• Able to work well with others.

HOURS OF OPERATION:

• Day shift:  40 Hours. Overtime as required.

JOB TYPE:           Full-time, permanent

8-hour shifts plus OT when required. A willingness to share in making weekend setups, when needed, would be a positive contribution.
