Environmental Engineer

Responsibilities
  • Assess, manage, and implement necessary improvements to environmental regulatory, registration and compliance programs for all Victaulic facilities.
  • Conduct/Support Internal Auditing of these activities to determine scope of compliance toward local and state environmental permitting and licensing requirements.
  • Develop and execute corrective action plans based on audit results to include procedures and work instruction development, as well as follow-up re-auditing to ensure continued compliance.
  • Develop comprehensive training plans to ensure activities attain and maintain continued compliance.
  • Conduct and/or lead periodic and frequent training to ensure implementation/understanding.
  • In coordination with Engineering, Product Development, and Innovation, manage the New Chemical Evaluation process company-wide and provide environmental evaluations.
  • Provide EH&S support for new processes/chemicals from initial development through pilot scale to full production.
  • Manage and maintain environmental task tracking system.
  • Prepare applicable regulatory report submissions for various facilities when required, including Tier II Reports, Form R Reports, Air Emission Statements, Discharge Monitoring Reports, among others.
  • Provide environmental support to all entities and senior management as needed. This includes activities, including but not limited to, real estate environmental assessments, obtaining necessary permits, preparing emergency response plans, and provide guidance regarding compliance to company environmental programs, plans, and policies.
  • Assist the Global Environmental Manager on all regulatory and remediation issues as required domestically and abroad.
 
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in a related Engineering discipline (i.e., Environmental, Chemical, Civil).  Master of Science Degree in related discipline preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Local, State, and Federal environmental plans and regulations.
  • 7-10 years related experience in the environmental field. Experience in the manufacturing industry is preferred.
  • Willingness to balance working in the field, a manufacturing environment, as well as an office environment. Travel domestically and abroad as needed.
