Position Summary:

The Inventory Controls Analyst role focuses on ensuring inventory accuracy, supporting financial inventory reporting, and driving process improvements across all U.S. reporting locations. The Inventory Controls Analyst will require strong analytical, organizational, and cross-functional collaboration skills, with an ability to lead others within their area of focus.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory Monitoring & Accuracy
- Track, audit, and reconcile inventory records against physical stocks by overseeing physical inventory counts and cycle counts.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Review and analyze inventory transaction history to identify required adjustments.
- Perform inventory receipts and kanban support as required.
Financial Analysis and Reporting
- Reconcile inventory stock balances to the general ledger.
- Preparation of monthly journal entries and inventory position summary reports.
- Support manufacturing production costing as required.
- Analyze slow moving and obsolete inventory, scrap, and debit memos.
Process Improvement
- Prepare and support business with ERP implementation.
- Identify inefficiencies in inventory management and explore improvement opportunities.
Compliance & Audit Support
- Inventory costing analysis to support country of origin and other regulatory compliances.
- Recommend areas of improvement for internal controls related to inventory.
- Support audit and financial reporting related to inventory.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 4-year degree with a major in Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain, or Business Mgmt.
- 3+ years of experience of inventory management or financial reporting.
- Understanding of absorption and basic cost accounting principles.
- Experience with medium-to-large entities within a manufacturing environment (public or private).
- Excel proficiency includes pivot tables, VLOOKUP, advanced formulas, and data visualization.
Valued Skills and Experience:
- Knowledge of Business Intelligence Tools (QlikView, QlikSense, etc).
- Experience with financial consolidation platforms (OneStream, Hyperion, etc).
- ERP experience (AS400, M3/Infor, SAP, or similar large enterprise systems).
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Capable of dealing with all levels of management.
