About the job:  
Facilities Project Engineer will be responsible for coordinating facility (infrastructure) projects, both domestically and globally, ranging from general facilities maintenance and upgrades/retrofits to complete building construction projects which may include production/process systems design/start-up while working closely with Manufacturing Engineering from concept through implementation for various supporting initiatives.   
Key Responsibilities:  
Required:  
  • Gathering and analyzing data, blueprints, and reports.
  • Determining facility and equipment specifications.
  • Analyzing project costs and preparing budgets.
  • Designing and overseeing the implementation of facility expansion, layout, and various systems.
  • Evaluating operational systems and facility infrastructure to ascertain and improve operational efficiencies.
  • Planning and coordinating infrastructure and equipment maintenance schedules and activities.
  • Responding to emergencies, reducing risk, minimizing losses and downtime during unexpected events.
  • Coordinating and overseeing contractors performing maintenance activities.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, building codes, and health and safety standards.
  • Managing projects cohesively and efficiently by working with manufacturing operations, safety, environmental, quality, accounting, sourcing, and/or any other internal and external project stakeholders.  
  
Qualifications: (education, experience, skills, personal attributes):  
Education:   
  
Bachelor's degree – Mechanical, Electrical, Civil or Structural Engineering  
  
Experience/Skills:  
Essential:  
  • 3-5 years minimum experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a Facilities role. Foundry experience is a plus.
  • Ability to read, interpret and create drawings, specifications, and other information required to support design and development of construction documentation from concept through full implementation of a project.
  • General knowledge of, or ability to learn, national and local building codes, Environmental, OSHA and/or application of codes governed by other Domestic and International localities.
  • Experience working with outside contractors to include competitive bid process, responding to RFI’s, issue addendums, process change orders and any related task required by the process.
  • Due to the broad nature of Facility Engineering projects, having basic knowledge and/or experience in the following disciplines are beneficial: Architectural, Civil, Electrical, Environmental, and Mechanical (HVAC/Plumbing).
  • Strong skills in the following software: AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project or related project management software.
  
Pluses:  
  
  • Working knowledge of design, selection, and installation of Compressed air and Cooling water systems to include piping systems, compressors, chillers, cooling towers, and other related equipment.
  • Working knowledge of design, selection, and installation of equipment for Collection/ Process Ventilation systems for Foundry Dust and General Fume Collection/Ventilation type of systems.
  • Working knowledge of the building process and construction principles.

Engineer will need strong skills in equipment/process design, problem solving, and new process development and ability to multitask multiple projects simultaneously.  
  
Must possess good organization and communication skills and capable of working effectively whether independently or with others in Teams.  
  
Willingness to work outside normal working days/hours to support Facility/Plant Emergencies and/or work with project teams both domestically and internationally across different time zones.  
Ability to travel both domestically and internationally as required
