Project Manager-Steel Pipe Fabrication
LOCATION OF EMPLOYMENT: West Jordan Utah 84064
POSITION DUTIES:
- Responsible for the coordination of pipe assemblies and metals fabrication projects for water and sewer, coatings, shipping and related vendor and customer interface. Specific tasks include the following:
- Read & Review Project Engineering Specifications
- Verify that specifications meet the project engineering specs/requirements
- Review specifications for unique requirements
- Schedule & Lead Kick-off Meetings for projects over $50,000 and/or projects with technical engineering requirements
- Identify where Standard company Drawings meet engineering standards and where applicable, use these as substitution
- Ensure each department has their correct engineering specifications including any changes
- Prepare Submittal Packages, obtain drawings from detailing, evaluate and make necessary design changes
- Coordinate with purchasing on projects where the company uses Subcontractors, such as Moultrie, Grating Systems, etc. that have their own drawings
- Evaluate Subcontractor designs
- Maintain a list of the drawings in each submittal and approve drawings for fabrication
- Engineer and design Standard company drawings for substitution
- Monitor and track project submittal packages, so that company is able to determine status
- Review returned submittals for engineering and design changes that may impact the job cost and review with salesman, estimator, and customer
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Qualified applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management 5 years’ experience in construction engineering and at least 2 years of which must include use of engineering principes related to installation techniques and materials in fabricated pipe solution projects.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Quarterly travel to West Coast required for 1-4 day
