CNC Operator - (Morning, Afternoon & Night Shift)
Description
JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for operating CNC machines.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operate CNC machinery for production to established production rates
- Operate manual machines as required
- Use measuring instruments to maintain required machine tolerances
- Ability to hold required tolerances through machine offsets, tooling replacement including inserts
- Complete other production related tasks as directed by supervisor
- Package and apply proper identification of machined parts
- Follow standard work practice-method sheet and instructions
- Maintain good housekeeping, follow lean Manufacturing Process and FEM requirements
- Report to the supervisor any damages or malfunction of the equipment and tools
- Wear appropriate safety equipment
- Adhere to company policies and safety rules
- Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor
SAFETY EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENT:
The use of appropriate safety equipment as described below is a condition of employment and not one of choice. Safety equipment that must be worn while performing job responsibilities are as follows:
- Safety shoes with metal guard
- Safety glasses
- Ear plugs
- Respirator if required
EDUCATION AND SKILL REQUIREMENT:
- Past experience working with CNC Lathe and Milling machines
- Ability to read blueprints / drawings and follow engineering instructions
- Ability to use various types of measuring equipment
- Ability to use various types of hand and power tools
- Crane training an asset
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Principles
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Previous work experience in an ISO certified company preferred
