Engineer/ Senior Engineer- Wireless Development
Description
As a Software/Sr. Software Engineer (Wireless Networking) at Versa Networks, you will be a critical member of the development team working with the engineering group. You will work on development and testing of latest wireless networking products and technologies. Your primary responsibilities would be development of wireless products, you are expected to be knowledgeable on wireless technology and Wi-Fi functionalities such as fast roaming (11r) , RRM (radio resource management) etc.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION
- Bachelors or Masters in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE
- 5 to 12 years of work experience in the wireless networking industry.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with engineering teams to develop and debug Wi-Fi features.
- Write/maintain design and architecture documents.
- Work on reproducing and fixing the issues found during engineering test phase and field tests.
- Help improve product quality and performance.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS
- Good understanding of Wi-Fi functionalities and work experience of both WLAN controller and Remote Access Points.
- Proficient and hands on in C/C++ programming, Data structures and Algorithms.
- Good debugging skills especially with tools like gdb, strace, etc.
- Good understanding of Linux/Unix system programming, internals, and drivers.
- Fast roaming (11r) and/or RRM (radio resource management).
- Hands on experience on OpenWRT is an added advantage.
DESIRABLE SKILLS
- Ideal candidate will have experience Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax protocols.
- Understanding of PHY Layer and MAC/application layer and experience in debugging throughput issues.
- Experience of working with GIT, WAF, etc.
- Knowledge of bug tracking tools such as Jira, Bugzilla.
