What You Will Do:
The Grant Coordinator is responsible for seeking, researching, soliciting, securing and administering grants for Valley Health. Proposals will include support for existing programs as well as new initiatives. A key aspect of this role is tracking and organizing the proposal and reporting process as well as gathering and/or developing supporting documentation to meet grantor deadlines. They will work collaboratively with the Foundation, finance, government relations and front line departments to review grant opportunities and identify and execute appropriate proposals. They will track and provide updates on pending and awarded proposals, forge and maintain relationships with funders, complete required reporting for spending and outcomes and submit formal reports to Foundation Boards of Trustees and grantors. In cases where contractor services are used for proposal development, the manager will provide the assistance needed to complete proposals and include that work in tracking and reporting. The Grant Coordinator reports to the Executive Director while working collaboratively with assigned teams to execute the duties of the role. Other duties may be assigned.
What You Will Bring:
Associates Degree in Development, Business, Marketing or a related field preferred.
Three (3) to Five (5) years of experience in charitable fundraising with a record of accomplishment in grant writing and/or written proposal work.
Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to deliver on-time proposals that meet grantors specifications precisely.
Initiative and writing skills essential.
Proficient in MS Word, Excel, the internet and an in-depth knowledge of software systems for donor and grant management required, Raiser’s Edge experience strongly preferred.
Strong leadership, interpersonal, public speaking and research and reporting skills required.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team to achieve goals.
