Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for an experienced, strategic, and highly integral leader to join our team as USANA’s Director of Corporate Sustainability. In this leadership role, you will chair the corporate sustainability steering committee comprised of top USANA executives in establishing and progressing enterprise-wide sustainability goals and objectives.

 

As a director of corporate sustainability, you will be responsible for creating and developing objectives in conjunction with the sustainability steering committee by analyzing corporate philosophies, stakeholder’s expectations, and USANA’s current sustainability accomplishments. Additionally, it is expected you will achieve established sustainability goals by evaluating and approving proposals for sustainability projects in conjunction with functional owners and within guidelines from the steering committee. Approvals will consider factors such as alignment with established sustainability framework and strategic organizational objectives.

 

In this position, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate sustainability into the core of our business, which will include developing and executing strategies to address issues such as environment, leadership and governance, social capital, human capital, company culture, business model, and innovation. As part of this role, you will also spearhead and drive USANA’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Council and will collaborate with marketing, communications, sales, and investor relations to develop comprehensive outreach programs that raise awareness, educate all stakeholders on sustainability goals, and build engagement through various media channels and other initiatives.

 

You will succeed in this role by being a champion of USANA’s values, building strong relationships and working seamlessly across all departments, and being adaptable at finding innovative solutions to complex sustainability challenges.

 

What You Will Also Do as USANA’s Director of Corporate Sustainability

  • Develop methodologies to assess the viability or success of sustainability initiatives and evaluate the effectiveness of sustainability programs
  • Implement and oversee carbon accounting practices to measure and manage the company’s carbon footprint
  • Develop risk mitigation strategies to address potential sustainability-related risks
  • Prepare and present packaging reporting to highlight sustainable packaging initiatives and regulatory compliance
  • Leverage partnerships with external organizations to enhance sustainability efforts and drive mutual benefits
  • Ensure structured processes for and visibility into sustainability initiatives across the organization
  • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of sustainability initiatives
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of ratings agencies' methodologies to ensure alignment and improvement in sustainability ratings
  • Manage corporate disclosures related to sustainability, ensuring transparency and compliance with reporting standards

 

Background and Skills You Need

  • 7+ years work experience in sustainability or related area
  • MBA or equivalent
  • Understanding and passion for sustainability and able to operate in an entrepreneurial environment within a large firm
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Ability to work independently while pursuing organizational and team goals.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proven experience working with leaders at all levels of an organization
