We are seeking a Cloud Security Engineer to join our team and help us achieve our ambitious goals for our business and the planet.

We will consider this role for continued remote work with some work/travel to our offices in Denver, Boulder, Boston, Chicago or Vancouver.

What you get to do:

  • Lead projects dedicated to improving Uplight’s infrastructure security posture
  • Recommend and help implement security best practices and system configuration standards
  • Evaluate, recommend, implement, and maintain cloud security tooling
  • Support the development of effective use cases and alerting on infrastructure threats
  • Assist with security incident response activities including creating playbooks, gathering and reviewing data, and communicating incident details
  • Participate in on-call shift rotation

What you bring to Uplight:

  • 5 - 7+ years of security engineering experience
  • Great attitude
  • Experience with modern DevSecOps practices including implementing automated security in CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with technologies and security best practices from at least one public cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Experience using and securing tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, or other equivalent technologies
  • Strong scripting skills such as Python/Shell Scripting
  • Linux knowledge in a virtual or public cloud environment
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience adopting security practices across multiple teams and platforms

Bonus Points:

  • Cloud specific certifications, multi-cloud experience (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Experience with Git and Infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation etc.)
  • Understanding of Agile/SCRUM development practices

Salary Range: $100,000 to $135,000

In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the approximate annual base compensation range is listed above. The actual offer, reflecting the total compensation package and benefits, will be determined by a number of factors including the applicant's experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity among our team.
