Location and Reporting Structure:  
This position is based in Miami and reports to the Engineering Manager.   
  
Position Summary: 
As a Mechanical Engineer, Level II or III, you will play a pivotal role in the Engineering/Design/Drafting sphere, spearheading the development and maintenance of new and existing products while providing expert engineering support across all product lines. This role requires a deep understanding of engineering principles, materials, manufacturing processes, and practices to diagnose complex issues, devise innovative solutions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.  
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Leading collaborative efforts with Designers, Engineers, and cross-functional team members to drive various project aspects forward. 
  • Generating advanced designs, drawings, concepts, and new product mechanisms in both 2D and 3D, demonstrating mastery in SolidWorks. 
  • Addressing intricate design/drawing challenges to exceed rigorous project objectives and industry standards. 
  • Taking a leadership role in maintaining/updating existing 3D Models, 2D Drawings, and manufacturing documentation, ensuring accuracy and completeness. 
  • Developing comprehensive documentation during development and for seamless transition to production (including models, detail drawings, BOM, assembly procedures, etc.). 
  • Providing expert support for custom product requests and serving as a primary point of contact for Customer Service, Sales Reps, and clients for complex projects. 
  • Leading the resolution of complex mechanical design issues through innovative and effective corrective actions, leveraging advanced engineering knowledge and problem-solving skills. 
  • Conducting advanced research, evaluation, and validation of technologies and/or systems to ensure alignment with stringent product requirements and industry best practices. 
  • Collaborating seamlessly with interdisciplinary teams from design inception through verification testing to ensure robust, reliable, and scalable designs. 
  • Developing and implementing cutting-edge methodologies and procedures for testing products or systems to ensure strict compliance with engineering and customer specifications. 
Experience and Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Mechanical Engineering or related field. 
  • Minimum of 5-8 years of progressive experience in machine and fixture design/drafting, demonstrating a track record of leadership and impactful contributions. 
  • Mastery in SolidWorks 3D modeling, developing complex 2D drawings, and creating intricate 3D assemblies. 
  • Extensive experience with SolidWorks design tables in assemblies and drawings; proficiency in Doc-Vault PDM procedures is highly desirable. 
  • CNC Programming expertise, particularly with Hass CNC Centers and CamWorks, is a significant advantage. 
  • Exceptional analytical, mechanical, and troubleshooting skills, with a demonstrated ability to tackle the most complex challenges. 
  • Outstanding organizational skills and a proactive, self-directed approach to project management. 
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information and lead discussions across all organizational levels and departments. 
  • Comfortable working autonomously with minimal supervision, while also fostering a collaborative and inclusive team environment.
