Position Overview

 

We are seeking an Accountant to manage end-to-end accounting processes, including month-end close, financial reporting, and reconciliations in compliance with GAAP. This role oversees an offshore accounting team, supports audits, and partners with cross-functional departments to ensure accurate financial data. The ideal candidate has 2–5 years of accounting experience, strong technical and Excel skills, and industry background in telecommunications or construction.


 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Handle all aspects of the accounting process, from recording transactions to closing the books on a monthly basis
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Prepare journal entries for accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, and other general ledger activities on a monthly basis, prior to month close
  • Oversee offshore accounting team to complete ongoing tasks (bank reconciliations, bill entry, AR reconciliations, etc...)
  • Perform complex reconciliations of general ledger accounts, including liability accounts, asset accounts, and intercompany accounts. 
  • Participate directly in external audits and prepare necessary workpapers for auditors
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as operations and sales, to gather financial information and ensure proper accuracy
  • Implement and train staff on accounting software to streamline financial processes and improve data accessibility
  • Understanding of partial billing/percent completion accounting
  • Collaborate with accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing and payroll teams to ensure accurate financial data.
  • Support to include research and communicating with various departments during annual audit
  • Assist in continuous process improvement initiatives to streamline accounting operations and reporting.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Experience: 2–5 years of relevant general ledger or financial accounting experience – preferably in the Telecommunications and Construction industries 
  • Proficiency in accounting software (NetSuite, QBO, Sage)
  • Advanced MS Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, etc…).
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a deadline-driven environment.
