The Rail division of Transdev, provides an integrated suite of railroad infrastructure maintenance, signaling, project oversight, and construction services to our clients, both freight and passenger rail.  This position is based in Miami, FL, in supporting the RTA Maintenance of Way Rail Project.

 

Transdev is proud to offer:

  • Competitive compensation package of $135,000 - $150,000 per year.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate the activities of the Communication and Signal Maintenance managers and personnel
  • Support the Transdev Rail Safety Director and Management Team ensuring that all employees and sub-contractors follow Federal, State, and Authority rules, regulations and policies.
  • Maintain, support, and promote a safe work environment while complying with all corporate and Transdev Rail safety rules, policies, and procedures, including the development of training programs and instructing employees in proper work methods to meet the needs of the C&S department.
  • Monitor and manage employee overtime and expenses
  • Build estimates and coordinate with other managers for various projects.
  • Assist with developing and negotiating contracts with sub-contractors, providing project oversight as needed, creating and maintaining various reports for management, maintaining material inventory levels.
  • Ability to clearly convey information to managers, employees and the client in a professional manner.
  • Manage other projects and perform other duties as assigned, including responding to emergency calls 24/7.
  • Travel requirement outside of immediate area (as a percent): <10%

 

 

 

Experience:

  • Licensed motor vehicle driver.
  • Prefer a minimum of five (5) years of Railroad Communication and Signal position.
  • Prefer experience in a supervisory role or a leadership capacity or a position with significant responsibility.

 

Education:

  • Electrical or Engineering Degree (or related field of study) preferred.

 

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Required:

  • Knowledge of Communications and Signals (C&S) practices.
  • Knowledge of FRA Regulations and AREMA Standards.
  • Knowledge of and familiarity with circuitry.
  • Knowledge of operating and safety rules and physical characteristics of the SFRC.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to lead others.

 

Pre-Employment Requirements:

Must pass a pre-employment drug test, background screen and previous employment verification.

  

Physical Requirements:

Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, to lift objects weighing a minimum of 50 lbs. and must have the ability to distinguish colors and to hear warning signals, radio, and telephone devices.

 

On-call 24/7, 365 days a year, with allowances for vacations, sick leave, and related time off.
