Your Part in It: 
Working out of our Chicago office, we are looking for our next Account Manager – Global Fresh Produce Division. In this role, you will manage and grow key accounts while driving strategic initiatives and operational excellence within the Global Fresh Produce Division.
 
ACCOUNT MANAGER – GLOBAL FRESH  
What the Job Entails: 
  • Manage and grow key accounts within the global fresh produce division.
  • Provide expert knowledge of fresh produce shipper requirements and the carrier network.
  • Stay up to date on produce market seasonality, trends, and industry developments to negotiate competitive rates.
  • Optimize carrier rates to maximize profitability while ensuring optimal load volume.
  • Drive strategic carrier sales initiatives for prospecting and managing produce carriers, fostering long-term partnerships.
  • Communicate regularly with carriers to assess capacity availability, discuss network opportunities, and negotiate rates on both spot and contracted levels.
  • Provide clear communication of load details and shipment requirements throughout the lifecycle of the load.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to create solutions that meet service and cost levels.
  • Monitor shipment progress daily to ensure coverage, on-time delivery, and resolution of any in-transit issues.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, streamline processes, and improve customer and carrier satisfaction.
  • Update system records promptly with load status changes, issues, and concerns for internal team visibility.
 
What We Are Looking For: 
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the logistics and supply chain industry, with produce and refrigerated shipping preferred.
  • Strong understanding of global fresh produce supply chains and market dynamics.
  • Outgoing personality; high energy; flexible; team player mentality.
  • Results-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft Office and related applications.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a HUGE bonus but not a must-have
