Assistant Designer - Apparel
Description
Supports the Designer & Director and assists in implementing and creating technical packages as well as color line sheets.
This role is hybrid and requires being in the office 3 days a week.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Assists design team in creating the product collections at the beginning of each season.
- Prepares development creative packages under direction of the senior designer and/or designer.
- Assists in managing multiple seasons at different stages of development, while understanding the development calendar and ensuring teams are adhering to the T&A.
- Prepares for seasonal product review meetings.
- Shops monthly to compile market research to gain understanding of brand and stays abreast of trends both directional and at a retail level, including, but not limited to brick & mortar and online research.
- Communicates with cross functional partners daily.
- Partners with Designer in reviewing and approving design, lab dips, trims, and fabrics details, etc.
- May Prepare for seasonal product review meetings.
- May attend development fit sessions.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
- Minimum of 1 year of design experience including technical knowledge.
- High School Diploma required, Associate or Bachelor Degree in design or equivalent experience preferred.
- Strong computer skills including Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Technical knowledge of fabric construction finishes and techniques.
- Strong knowledge of silhouettes, fabrication, color, sewing techniques, graphics, and trim.
- Solid design and conceptual skills.
- Timely sense of trends and market direction encompassing color, fabric, and silhouette.
- Flexibility to deadline demands and seasonal schedules.
- Illustrates a dedication to meeting requirements of internal and external customers, responding to all customer requests promptly and thoroughly.
- Strong communication skills including ability to work independently and in a team environment, give honest, direct feedback and is a solid verbal and written communicator. Meet deadlines, prioritize appropriately, cope well with change, and maintain composure under pressure.
