We have an exciting Summer 2024 Underwriting Intern opportunity within our Surety Group in Los Angeles.   

Performance Objectives:  

• Assist staff in the accomplishment of Underwriting activities  
• Participate in the Tokio Marine HCC Intern Enrichment Program to develop valuable skills, including networking and leadership
• May organize team activities
• May be responsible for drafting communications to employees and updates to the business unit/department website.  
• May revise or create content for business applications
• May analyze data and create informational presentations

Requirements:   

• Working toward a bachelor’s degree and either be a current or recent enrollee in the study of Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or Risk Management, or the equivalent education and/or experience.
• 60 hours of general college coursework with a 3.0 GPA.  
• Possess and have the ability to apply basic knowledge of underwriting principles, practices, and procedures.  
• Good written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy.  
• Good organizational and analytical skills; demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.  
• Proficiency and experience using Microsoft Office Package (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word).  

For candidates working in-person in Los Angeles, the reasonable pay range for this specific position is $22.00 to $24.20 per hour.  The salary offered for this specific position is based on a number of legitimate, non-discriminatory factors set by the Company.
