Job Title: Claims Adjuster – Property D&F  

Location: Aldgate, City of London  

Position type: Permanent, 35 hours per week   

Hybrid: 3 days in the office, 2 days working from home

Job Purpose:  

To handle Property D&F (predominantly North American) claims within the London Market Claims team. Reporting to the Property Claims Manager in the day-to-day operation and control of the claims function, ensuring claims are processed and settled in a timely and equitable manner, whilst constantly striving to develop and improve service and quality standards.  

   

Key Responsibilities:   

  • Ensure all claims allocated are handled within the parameters of the Claims Procedure Manual and SLA’s are adhered to.
  • Demonstrate that Lloyds minimum standards are being met at all times
  • To be present at market meetings and conference calls when necessary.
  • Ensure customers are always treated fairly.
  • Regular liaison with Brokers, Experts, Lawyers and Market Peers on business matters, helping enhance the Property Claims Team’s reputation in the claims market.
  • Producing feedback to underwriters and management with regards to the structure of their claim issues and related risk information with the goal to help improve the overall standard of underwriting in the company.
  • Ensure all complaint related issues and all such incidents are promptly logged and concluded in accordance with company policy.
  • Practices and always promotes Tokio Marine HCC core values, to both internal and external contacts alike.
  • Undertake any other ad hoc activities/project work required.

   

Performance Objectives:  

  • Gain a full understanding of the Property D&F book of business which predominantly consists of North American property.
  • Maintain service levels via ECF and respond promptly to various stakeholders within the claims handling function.
  • Engagement and collaboration within the Property D&F Claims Team, via group and one to one sessions.
  • Continue to enhance the working relationship with our Underwriters, providing prompt feedback and reporting on claims matters as necessary.
  • Working towards obtaining CII qualifications

   

Skills and Experience Specification:  

   

Essential:  

  • Ideally 2+ years claims adjusting experience of North American Property claims in the London Market.
  • A good knowledge of ECF, for both Lloyds and LIRMA markets.
  • Good interpersonal skills are required as the duties of this role involve communicating with brokers, loss adjusters and lawyers.
  • Exceptional time and organizational management skills are essential to adapt quickly into the role.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills are essential.
  • IT literate to include Microsoft (Word, Excel, Outlook).

   

Desirable:  

  • Cert CII qualification (or working towards)
