Job Purpose: 

Be part of the new and dynamic Data Office based in Bridgend and help build the centre of excellence for Data Management using agile methodologies and modern tools. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Member of the Data Quality Team contributing to the definition and delivery of our Data Quality Framework and supporting processes.
• Assist in gathering Data Management Requirements from the Business including Reference and Master data, Data Quality Rule Definitions, Glossary definitions and lineage.
• Champion and SME providing support and consultancy to the business and stakeholders with defined network of data roles such as Data Owners, Data Stewards etc
• Develop new quality rules in DQ Pro (data quality tool) using SQL skills
• Undertake data profiling and analysis of data against the data quality dimensions, identifying data that requires investigation and analysis
• Undertake investigation and analysis of data quality issues as they are reported to understand the root cause, potential impact and materiality of the issue as well as potential remediation steps
• Demonstrating solutions back to the business
• Support the collation and publishing of all required MI on data quality and data governance activities
• Documenting data and flows
• Development of good internal client relationships

• You’ll be providing the evidence to support the outcomes

Skills and Experience Specification: 

• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
• Experience of working in an agile environment.
• Understanding of a business glossary and data catalogue.
• Knowledge of best practices in data quality analysis
• Experience of profiling large datasets and presenting results
• Knowledge and experience of data management practices
• Experience using SQL to access, query and manipulate data from relational databases, including reading and writing stored procedures
• Experience of analysing large datasets
• Good communication and presentation skills and an excellent cross-functional team player – you will be working with stakeholders at all levels of the business.
• A willingness to learn and implement new skills
