Business Analysis Manager/ Product Delivery Manager
Description:
As a Business Analysis Manager, based in our Barcelona Office, you will form part of the Underwriting Operations department and work as a liaison between the Business and the Technology Department to improve the current operating systems.
The Business Analysis Manager coordinates, communicates, and validates requirements for changes to business processes to make them (even) more effective. You keep sight of the agreed backlog and prioritise change requests.
The Business Analysis Manager is overseeing a team of 4 Business Analysts that analyse existing processes, proposed business improvements and any related upcoming difficulties and recommend solutions that enable the organization to improve quality, efficiency and ultimately reduce costs and achieve company goals.
In addition, in this role you will act as a Product Delivery Manager within the Product Operating Model by being in a close collaboration with the Tech Lead, the Product Owner and various other business resources (BAs, SMEs).
The Business Analyst Manager is key to support the company’s objectives and standards. You will directly report to the Head of Underwriting Operations of TME.
Responsibilities:
  • Have a good understanding of all elements of the Policy Administrative system (PAS): Pega, SBS, New Gen, ERS, La Rambla, DQ Pro.
  • Manage the “Business As Usual” (BAU) monthly sprint deployment by:
  • Prioritizing the DevOps tickets to be included in a sprint, finding the right balance between setting ambitious goals and carefully managing the team’s capacity.
  • Getting users stories signed off
  • Following up on the UAT/Deployment
  • Monitoring resources for UAT/Deployment
  • Communicating the UAT/Deployment results to all stakeholders
  • Manage the Finance Line Product Operating Model roadmap by:
  • Prioritizing upcoming enhancements.
  • Organizing workshops to define requirements.
  • Following up on progress.
  • Lead any new implementations (such as a new product) by translating business needs into system requirements and lead the process from requirements gathering, to testing and implementation.
  • Communicate updates on system improvements to all stakeholders (e.g. draft emails, newsletters, PowerPoint presentations).
  • Use agile development principles to produce continuous value while readily adapting to change.
  • Prepare and deliver training on PAS to employees making sure monthly releases are understood.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the PAS system.
  • Regularly attend meetings with the Product Operating Model team (refinement/sprint review/sprint retrospective meetings, sprint planning) to review project deliverables, deadlines, and key dependencies.
  • Ensure proper documentation by maintaining issue/bugs logs, meeting minutes, meeting schedules, project summaries and updates; determine daily priorities and follow the proper escalation paths.
  • Create and keep up to date systems manuals / training material.
  • Participate in company projects by providing information from a systems’ point of view.
  • Produce statistics and reports which support the decision-making process and for the management team for a monthly/quarterly update.
  • Follow up on the data accuracy rate.
  • Ensure employees are trained on PAS.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • At least 4 years’ experience as a manager
  • Fluent in English, any other language (preferably Spanish) is an asset
  • Preferably experience in/knowledge about the insurance sector
  • Proficiency in standard software applications (Microsoft word, excel, power point)
  • Visio, Agile DevOps, Pega and SBS knowledge is a plus
  • Excellent written communication skills; advanced verbal communication skills
  • Experience in business requirements analysis and documentation
  • Experience in working with an Agile software methodology is a plus.
