Network Operations Team Lead  
Location: Houston, TX (Onsite)
Position Type: Full-time 
 
Tokio Marine HCC, a global power in the specialty insurance industry, is seeking a Team Lead in our Network Operations group with a passion to teach, lead, and make an impact in our Corporate IT group. 
Part of our Operations team, you are responsible for managing and maintaining complex global network systems; including routers, switches, load-balancers, firewalls, network management and monitoring tools.
This is a hands-on technical lead role, providing technical leadership and guidance across the Operations team. You are highly proficient in both technical and practical knowledge of all core network and network security technologies and components. Additionally, help drive a service mentality across the team, with some workload management for peers as well as service improvements across technology and processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as a technical mentor to the Operations team.
  • Enforce standards to ensure quality and productivity.
  • Proactively operate, maintain, and monitor the network infrastructure globally, delivering “network as a service” to each business unit across TMHCC.
  • Incident Management – Oversee troubleshooting of complex outages.
  • Problem Management – Ensure open problem records are regularly updated and reported on.
  • Change Management – Ensure network changes are in line with internal change management processes.
  • Provide technical expertise across the organization.
  • Champion and adhere to standards and operating procedures.
  • Actively participate and engage in network design governance.
Qualifications:
 
  • 10+ years’ experience internetworking within a global enterprise organization (3000+ users) across multi-geographies, time-zones, cultures.
  • Strong experience in a team lead/manager capacity or be able to demonstrate competencies for the role.
  • Significant and demonstrable hands-on experience in implementing, managing, and troubleshooting networks in a pressurized environment.
  • Familiarity with a variety of testing tools, networking technologies and techniques.
  • Significant experience planning and managing change to technology, services and products.
  • You will have expert knowledge of industry changes, updates, and technical developments.
  • Excellent communicator.
Desired Certifications:
  • Cisco CCNP certification or higher; CCIE highly preferred
  • ITIL v3 foundation or higher

The Team:
The Global Network Services Team is an integral part of the Infrastructure Services function within the Corporate IT organization and are responsible for the effective operation of global network and telecommunication services across Tokio Marine HCC (TMHCC), spanning approx. 80 locations globally.
We are a small (c. 15 staff) but high performing global team, split across London and Houston; operating on a 24x7 basis to deliver a stable, secure, and scalable service for Tokio Marine HCC, in accordance with ITIL and Industry best practice.
