Job Purpose:
The Tax team sits within International Finance, providing timely review of internal financial reporting and decision support to senior management.
Broadly this role is responsible for supporting the European Tax team and the ideal candidate will be able to learn new systems and processes, be pro-active and able to work well with others in the team in a dynamic and growing company. Key Responsibilities:
- Tax compliance and reporting:
- Preparation of the tax computations for the European Business Units and liaising with external adviser
- Preparation of tax technical analysis leading on related projects (e.g. BEPS Pillar Two, EU public country – by – country) and queries
- Co-ordination of the periodic information request process for the European Business Units with stakeholders across Europe/US
- Performing reconciliations of the Ledger tax accounts
- Prepare accounting journals for entry into the enterprise software
- Keeping abreast of legislative tax developments
- Transfer Pricing and reporting of Intercompany Transactions;
- Assist in the gathering of information on intercompany transactions
- Check information received is accurate
- Assist in the preparation and review of transfer pricing documentation across Europe
- Help design and implement relevant Transfer Pricing Policies
- Assist in the monitoring of transfer pricing processes and policies
- Respond to any queries
- Tax Payments:
- Assist in the calculation of corporation tax liabilities and post accounting entries into the accounting system
- Development of skills and understanding
- Develop a deep and broad understanding of TM HCC’s business and operations;
- Build knowledge of the insurance industry
- Build knowledge of tax and finance concepts
- Other
- Provide support to and knowledge sharing within the team;
- Use a collaborative approach when working with others;
- Support a culture of continuous improvement and ‘end to end process’ thinking.
Skills and Experience Specification:
Essential:
- Experience in UK/International Tax compliance for large businesses with experience of using
Accounting / Tax specialist software (e.g. OneSource, Oracle Peoplesoft)
- Experience in Tax Accounting
- Strong Excel skills
- Experience on wider taxes (e.g. VAT, IPT) considered advantageous
- Financial Services experience is required, and any insurance industry experience considered a bonus
- Currently studying towards the professional qualification (e.g. ATT, ACA, ACCA, CTA)
