Senior Claims Examiner, Cyber

The Tokio Marine HCC—Cyber & Professional Lines Group is seeking a self-motivated Senior Claims Examiner to join our growing Claims Department.

Position Overview
Under general supervision, investigates, analyzes, negotiates, and resolves complex cyber events/claims.  As a licensed adjuster, relying on experience and judgment, this role is responsible for accomplishing the following assignments.
Performance Objectives    
  • Oversee all aspects of the litigation process for claims to minimize company risk of loss.
  • Analyze coverage issues, conduct investigations, and evaluate to determine validity of moderately complex claims; may work with outside counsel and effectuate same.
  • Communicate with agents, principals, claimants, and other attorneys both orally and in writing concerning claim status, information requests, payment/denial of claim, or related information.
  • Maintain a diary of complex, high-dollar exposure, and/or high-visibility claims.
  • Create documentation and maintain all claim file activity including current strategy, plan of action, and exit plan in claim file. Document all decisions, correspondence, reports, and discussions concerning the claim.
  • Establish reserves and authorize payments within scope of authority.
  • Maintain frequent contact with insured and/or their representative throughout the duration of the claim.
  • Prepare and present claim settlement and disposition to claimant and/or their representatives. Inform the Claims Manager of the status of litigated claims and provide advice on future development of the claims.
  • May attend depositions, mediations, arbitrations, pre-trials, trials, and all other legal proceedings, as needed.
  • Review and compare all claim checks to the register prior to them being distributed.
  • Assist with special projects as assigned by the Claims Manager.
Educational requirements   
4 Year / Bachelors Degree or the equivalent education and/or experience.
Adjuster’s License Required
Experience   
·         Minimum two (2) years of relevant and progressive professional experience in insurance claims
·         Cyber Claims Handling experience     
Technical Skills   
Intermediate proficiency and experience in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Travel Expectations (if applicable)   
·         Travel up to 10%.

For candidates working in person or remotely in the following locations, the reasonable pay range for this specific position is Encino, CA, $87,300 - $120,100 annually and  Mount Kisco, New York, $95,300 - $131,100 annually.   The salary offered for this specific position is based on a number of legitimate, non-discriminatory factors set by the Company.
