Processing Center Roles

  • Shipping

Our shipping employees pull books, sort, package and ship customer orders. This fast-paced job requires you to pull books from shelves. You will be using step stools, reaching, bending & carrying books.

  • Shelving

Every day, our warehouses receive thousands of books. Our shelvers ensure a continuous, fast-paced flow, moving books from the receiving station to the appropriate shelves. Shelvers also remove aged books to make space for incoming supply.

  • Sorting

Sorters quickly inspect large volumes of books for quality, saving those that meet our standards and make sure the receiver’s station is supplied with books at all times.

  • Receiving

Receiving involves reviewing hundreds of used books per day then inspecting and rating them for quality. You will see all kinds of books, from a popular James Patterson novel to the latest in self-improvement non-fiction. Experience with 10-key is especially helpful for book receiving, but don’t worry, no 10-key experience, no problem.

  • Department Lead

As a member of our management team, the Lead is responsible every aspect of oversight, training, safety, reporting and time card management for their department. Depending on the department, you oversee a staff of 5 to 20 employees.

Processing Centers

Atlanta

In the shadow of Stone Mountain, our Atlanta Processing Center has grown over time to compete with our larger Warehouses. It’s now the heart and soul of our Southeast Operations.

Baltimore

In a city known for its great food and rich history, our Baltimore Processing Center has earned a reputation for great books and its tight-knit group of employees.

Chicago

With our largest inventory and newest technology, the Chicago Processing Center is the vanguard of our future. Here, we operate two shifts and have a staff of over 150 people!

Dallas

What a great location for Sports Fans! In either direction, this Processing Center is located 20 minutes from the three stadiums where the Cowboys, Rangers, Mavericks and Stars Play. Like everything else in the state, our Dallas Processing Center is bigger and better.

Phoenix

In the heart of the Southwest, our Phoenix Processing Center is as warm and welcoming as the never-failing desert sun.

Portland

Our Portland Processing Center is as individual and unique as the city it calls home. There are not a lot of places where you can spend time in the ocean and on the mountain in the same day. This PC is located with a back drop of Forest Park and is the proud home to our largest inventory of collectible books!

Reno

In the biggest “little” city in the world, our Reno Processing Center is surrounded by the Sierra Mountains. Not only are they one of our largest shipping facilities, but they have over 1 million books in inventory, making them the second largest in the company!
