What you will do:

Incumbent provides coaching, mentoring and leadership to an agile development team tasked with the building and continuously improving enterprise grade software systems on top of the Microsoft .NET development stack, the PHP development stack, or the Java/Other technologies development stack.
  1. Guide team development efforts towards successful project delivery.
  2. Provide technical leadership to teammates through coaching and mentoring.
  3. Maintain high standards of software quality within the team by establishing good practices and habits.
  4. Identify and encourage areas for growth and improvement within the team.
  5. Collaborate with other software developers, project managers and IT leadership to plan, design, develop, test, and maintain web-based business applications built on our development stacks.
  6. Assist in the collection and documentation of user's requirements, development of user stories, estimates and work plans.
  7. Prepare reports, manuals and other documentation on the status, operation and maintenance of software.
  8. Design, develop, and unit test applications in accordance with established standards.
  9. Participate in peer-reviews of solution designs and related code.
  10. Analyze and resolve technical and application problems.
  11. Assess opportunities for application and process improvement and prepare documentation of rationale to share with team members and other affected parties.
  12. Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner which facilitates the success of business operations in order to meet company demands and expectations.
  13. Proactively work to assist others in achieving the organization's objectives.
  1. Skills: Must possess a comprehensive understanding of object-oriented and service-oriented application development techniques and theories. Must be internally motivated and able to work proficiently both independently and in a team environment. Must possess strong communication skills with both internal team members and external business stakeholders. Must be a proactive problem solver, able to find ways to improve solutions, systems, and processes.
  2. Education: Bachelors degree in Computer and Information Science, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience required.
  3. Experience Required: 7+ years experience as designing and developing enterprise grade software required. Previous experience with source control management systems and continuous integration/deployment environments required. Previous experience with automated testing Experience with agile development methodologies including Kanban and Scrum required. Previous experience with debugging, performance profiling and optimization required. Previous experience with web development technologies like ASP.NET, MVC, PHP, Java, C#, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS preferred. Previous experience with database development including relational database design, SQL and ORM technologies preferred. Previous experience with user interface design and prototyping preferred.
