Suffolk University seeks a full time Workday Applications Technical and Security Lead located at 73 Tremont Street, Boston, MA 02108 to support the Security (lead resource), Tenant configuration, business process workflows, reporting and integrations for the Workday Student Module, lead day to day operations including: Security, Tenant Configuration business process workflows, reporting and troubleshooting integrations of all Workday modules. Duties include:

 

Develop and implement new/enhanced Workday modules and the security that is required (30%) – 

  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the university to design and document business processes for enterprise resource planning solutions and to define the required security.
  • Lead user research efforts to gain an understanding of pain points, challenges, and needs. Builds and delivers design solutions that meet customer needs and expectations.
  • Serve as the subject-matter expert for Security relevant to the student implementation Workday business process configuration
  • Configure best-in-class application functions for enterprise resource planning tools that are aligned with business objectives.
  • Communicate and present recommended business process improvements and solutions and decision-making rationale in team and functional team meetings.
  • Develop human-centered design (HCD) processes and approaches to deliver a broad range of sustainable solutions.
  • Collaborate with IT on necessary integrations, draft system specifications, and workflow process.
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement by leveraging the latest industry knowledge and best practices.
  • Enable release management process by anticipating risks and providing strategic recommendations for releases, deliver high-quality project analysis documentation such as business requirements, scope matrices, use cases, future state proposals, UAT plans, etc.

 

Security Lead (50%) –

  • Manage the Security Matrix throughout the student implementation as well as configuration review of security from tenant to tenant.
  • Provide security access, support and maintenance of Workday to ensure optimal user functionality and technical integrity of configurations
  • Review security requests and assess needs for access and providing information to the Security to council to support recommendations for access.
  • Audit security configurations, roles and security groups to ensure that they align with our policies to ensure that we are continuously improving our Security in the tenant.
  • Create or contribute to business requirements documents, system configuration documents, detailed functional specification documents, test plans and test cases, user training documents and implementation documentation as necessary.
  • Ensure that user access to domains, tasks, reports and data align with need based on the current position.

 

Stakeholder Collaboration, Communication and Training (20%) –

  • Mentor functional analysts to develop in-house expertise on Workday.
  • Establish and implement training programs for users and ITS staff.
  • Partner with business units to understand data access needs and aligns and translates needs of data access requests., communicate needs and proposed solutions to Security Council. 
  • Work closely with team members and management to implement and support effective solutions for enterprise resource planning.
  • Support process improvement efforts within the team and across ITS.

 

Position requirements:

Master’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related field, plus 3 years of experience in Workday implementation, configuration and support. Experience, which may be gained concurrently, must include:

  • 3 years of experience configuring tenant level setup features in Workday, enhancing system by configuring new features, test, troubleshoot and maintain Workday configurations
  • 3 years of experience with Workday Security, including creating security groups, configuring user access, managing domain and business process security policies
  • 3 years of experience configuring Business Process workflows in Workday, troubleshooting and enhancing BPs, building conditions for routing
  • 3 years of experience creating Core Connectors, Document Transformation and EIB integrations, Troubleshooting and scheduling Workday integrations
  • 3 years of experience in Workday Reporting & Analytics, including building reports, calculated fields, and dashboards
  • 3 years of experience implementing Workday System for multiple clients, support clients during Post-Production through Implementation partner
