We have a thriving Transportation & Infrastructure practice with a close-knit, team-oriented group that is growing rapidly.  Due to our success, we need to continue to add resources to assist with the delivery of our current extensive backlog of work.  This backlog includes tasks associated with various infrastructure improvement projects for multiple state government agencies, as well as numerous private sector clients and work sharing with other STV Offices.

What we are seeking:

We are seeking an experienced Traffic Engineer to join our collaborative team in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic to assist on projects in South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Texas, DC, Florida or other offices.Our strong portfolio of work will provide exciting and meaningful day-to-day challenges and allow you to provide solutions to real-world problems.  You would be expected to perform a mix of duties ranging from design through construction.

What you will do:

Perform complex traffic microsimulation and traffic operations analysis including:

  • Supervise and perform complex traffic microsimulation analyses using TransModeler and VISSIM
  • Supervise and perform traffic operations analysis using Synchro/SimTraffic, SIDRA, HCS and other software
  • Write and review traffic analysis reports and summaries of microsimulation/traffic operations analyses
  • Work and coordinate across multiple jurisdictions and offices on projects
  • Participate in project meetings and interface with staff and clients


What you need:

  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • 5 or more years’ experience, with increasingly complex microsimulation and analysis projects, including design-build projects
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required
  • Medium to expert level experience with TransModeler microsimulation simulation software (or VISSIM with the ability to learn TransModeler), Synchro/SimTraffic, SIDRA, HCS and comparable software.
  • Oversight/preparation of technical documents and reports such as QA and QC
  • Familiarity with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Good oral and written communication skills
