STV Energy Services, Inc. in Houston, TX is seeking an intermediate level Electrical, Instrumentation, and Controls Integrator with a minimum of two years of experience to work on pipeline and facility (metering stations, pump stations, compressor stations, Gas plants, terminals) for our industrial clients.

Minimum Qualifications Include:

  • Two year technical degree in Electrical and/or Instrumentation (or equivalent practical experience) and a minimum of two years of I&E technician and programing experience.
  • Good knowledge of the latest version of the National Electrical Code
  • Good knowledge of multiple programming software on different platforms including PLCs, DCS, RTU, Relays, HMI, and SCADA.
  • Good knowledge of Testing equipment for trouble shooting including Voltage Meters, Process meters, Hart communicator and software, Modbus testing, network testing.
  • Good knowledge of selecting and wiring instrumentation (flow, pressure, temperature) transmitters and switches.
  • Good knowledge of selecting components for the design of PLC systems including I/O, architecture, configuration, and communication links (Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet, etc)
  • Good knowledge of low voltage power electrical equipment (motor control centers, motor starter controls, motors, transformers, VFDs, etc.)
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access)
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Excellent interpersonal relationship skills in team environments and one-on-one.
  • Excellent skills working alone on site and interfacing with clients.
  • Excellent skills in modifying and understanding existing code developed from previous projects.

Responsibilities in Addition to Minimum Qualifications

  • Accomplish project related clerical and reproduction duties with minimal supervision.
  • Apply client directed programming standards to all equipment involved in project design. Typical software included in list below.
  • Plan daily work with minimal supervision.
  • Program and develop projects along with commissioning and startup activities
  • Travel independently to and conduct site surveys to document electrical, instrumentation, and controls, Programming, commissioning, and startup at existing client sites and facilities (+50% of time).
  • Provide on and off-site support for Operation and maintenance on PLCs and instrumentation.

Additional Experience a plus:

  • MS Access database software
  • Basic Understanding of the latest (or one previous version) of AutoCAD to create drawings and documents from scratch based on sketches/ hand marked up prints and verbal instructions and vendor documents, scaling, paper space/model space concepts, reference files, and viewports.
  • Designs involving motor starters and VFDs
  • Practical field experience working as an intern or electrician's helper or similar
  • Experiences requiring leadership and self-initiated activities
