Responsibilities
Shamrock Trading Corporation is looking for a VP, Information Security to lead a growing InfoSec team. This individual will lead a team of security engineers in fostering a security-aware culture. They will partner and collaborate with stakeholders, IT leaders, HR, Legal and external partners to understand strategic opportunities, guide secure innovation, and align security initiatives. They will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive information security strategy aligned with business objectives and industry best practices. Must assess and prioritize security risks across the organization, identifying vulnerabilities and mitigation plans, while staying informed about emerging cyber threats and trends to proactively address potential risks. Set the direction of information security efforts in support of end-to-end security strategy, design, and operational support for the growing enterprise.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive information security strategy aligned with enterprise objectives, identifying emerging threats and risks, and prioritizing security initiatives.
- Conduct regular risk assessments, analyze security vulnerabilities, and prioritize mitigation strategies to minimize potential security threats.
- Ensure adherence to relevant data privacy regulations and industry security standards by monitoring compliance and implementing necessary controls.
- Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of security infrastructure, including network security controls, access management systems, data encryption, and endpoint protection solutions.
- Develop and deliver ongoing security awareness training programs to educate employees about cybersecurity best practices and potential threats.
- Manage the information security budget, allocating resources effectively to support security initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams across the organization to communicate security risks, advocate for security measures, and ensure alignment with business goals and market trends.
- Encourage a culture of innovation that balances cutting-edge security controls with practical, scalable solutions by successfully building and leading the corporate security strategy.
- Demonstrate your deep understanding of information security through leading, mentoring, guiding, and growing a team of talented security engineers to deliver cutting edge solutions to meet the needs of the business.
- Ensure the highest level of risk mitigation, developing and implementing secure processes that ensure the stability and performance of our systems and applications.
- Clearly communicate security engineering capacity and velocity, while serving as a coach to help business stakeholders and the InfoSec team prioritize work effectively.
- Develop and maintain security policies, standards, and procedures.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a leadership role within information security, ideally in transportation/financial technology or similar high-stakes, high-volume environments.
- A deep understanding of cybersecurity principles, including threat intelligence, vulnerability management, network security, application security, and identity and access management.
- A results-oriented track record of successful information security development and execution of simultaneous strategic initiatives.
- Strong management and coaching skills, with experience in mentoring senior security engineers and fostering a culture of continues improvement and excellence.
- Exceptional strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills fostering innovation solutions to keep the business moving forward.
- Knowledge of relevant industry regulations and compliance requirements.
- Expertise with security frameworks like NIST Cybersecurity Framework or ISO 27001 and familiarity with tools like Git, Jenkins, Jira, and Confluence.
- A STEM background, coupled with a passion for transportation and financial markets and an appetite for tackling complex, distributed systems.
- Bachelor’s degree, in Computer Science, Information Security, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related technical field, plus 12+ years of InfoSec engineering and leadership experience.
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Computer Engineering, MBA, Software Engineering is a plus.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively communicate complex security concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
