Description

We are hiring a Staff Developer who plans, implements and evaluates educational programs to provide learning opportunities to all nursing personnel and all community disciplines involved in the care of residents. Provides in-services to enhance knowledge and skills in order to assist staff to provide the highest degree of quality care and to grow and achieve their maximum professional growth. The Staff Developer role is 3 days/week. If you hold a RN license, there is an opportunity to expand this role to include RN duties, offering you the potential for additional hours if you're interested.

What You Will Do:
  • Plans, organizes, develops, and teaches an ongoing educational program for the development and improvement of necessary skills and knowledge for all Health Services staff as well as supports the educational needs of all facility staff as required by all applicable regulations. Provides in-services and coordinates computerized training programs for all staff. Submits in-services and orientation schedules to the Director of Nursing Services (DNS).
  • Provides input for CNA hiring and performance appraisal processes to the DNS. Administers CNA competency tests and provides ongoing feedback to the DNS as needed. Serves as a liaison between the CNA staff and nursing management.
  • Conducts routine rounds of care provided by CNAs to identify issues of care, conduct and physical environments including, but not limited to Resident Rights and safety procedures. Provides hands-on training to Health Services staff while working with residents. Provides 1:1 education and audits, as necessary.
  • Develops and coordinates orientation program for all new hires on mandatory orientation and training requirements. Provides special educational trainings for all staff as required.
  • Assists DNS in the review and revision of Health Services policies and procedures in accordance with new laws and regulations to ensure that the highest quality of care and service is being delivered. Participates in the mock survey and survey process.
  • May conduct Medication Pass Skills Testing and documentation of medication and medical record keeping trainings to Licensed Staff per license requirements. Provides 1:1 education and audits, as necessary.
  • Observes and reports techniques of clinical staff during delivery of care. Coordinates training efforts with the Director of Nursing Services and assists to identify individuals for advance training and expansion of wound care skills.
  • Participates in the Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI) function by collecting and analyzing data, establishing new procedures to assure correction of recognized care issues, and reporting at QAPI meetings.
  • Assists the Safety Coordinator in the community’s disaster and safety plans, especially in fire drills and safety meetings for Health Services staff
  • Supports clinical staff in license and certification renewal. Tracks and monitors licenses and certification for Health Services staff.
