Description

We are hiring a School Site Coordinator to join our growing team in San Francisco from 8:00 am - 10:00 am. This individual manages the day-to-day operations of Empowering Children Bay Area (ECBA) at one or more schools in Greenbrae, San Rafael, Novato, San Francisco. Responsible for the placement and support of volunteer tutors at assigned school(s). Develops and maintains school-based relationships to support program goals.  If you enjoy working with people in a fast-paced environment and are excited about the opportunity to make a difference every day, then this role may be for you!

 

What You Will Do:

 

  • Support Volunteers and Schools in the implementation of Sequoia Living Structured Tutoring Session 

  • Meets and interview volunteers to ensure proper fit to Structured Tutoring program.

  • Conducts a school site tour for volunteers (Virtual introduction to school staff if in person is not feasible) 

  • Places, monitors and supports volunteer assignments and one-on-one tutoring matches. Maintains related records and regularly updates volunteer information and service hours in Salesforce database.  

  • Makes certain all materials are always stocked and available at each school site for the volunteers use. 

  • Ensures success and sustainability of one-on-one tutoring matches through ongoing communication with teachers and member check-ins. Tracks, communicates, and records changes in placement, match or dosage.  

  • Plans and facilitates member team meetings for problem solving, recognition, team-building, and continued education. Consistently communicates with team to act as a resource for volunteers, teacher, and student needs.  

  • Assists in the development, promotion and implementation of volunteer and teacher recognition programs.  

  • Develops and maintains effective relationships with volunteers, community organizations, school faculty. Promotes program visibility and collaborates effectively with school faculty, PTA, and organizations serving the schools. Promotes to all parties the value of older adults, Empowering Children and Sequoia Living as local host.

  • Disseminates and collects student, teacher, and volunteer evaluations. Reviews, edits, analyzes and affirms accuracy of data prior to processing in a timely manner. Obtains and ensures confidentiality of student test data for purposes of assessing program impact.  

  • Meets monthly with EC Bay Area staff to support program goals, address challenges, define best practices, develop program wide projects, and assure staff is working as a team. 

  • Meets episodically with Empowering Children Bay Area staff to share best practices.

  • Performs other work as assigned.

Who You Are:

  • Knowledge of Marin County nonprofit community, senior services, and school environments.  Knowledge and understanding of volunteer supervision. 

  • High School graduate or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree in Social Services, Education, 

Gerontology, or Organizational Behavior preferred.  Minimum of one (1) year experience working with children and seniors in an institutional, recreational, or volunteer services agency.  Minimum of two (2) years of progressive experience in volunteer management.  Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.  California driver license, proof of insurance, clean driving record, and ability to travel to multiple locations on a daily basis.
