Description

We are hiring an On Call Nursing Assistant who is responsible for performing a variety of duties related to carrying out resident activities of daily living. If you enjoy partnering with people and are excited about the opportunity to make a difference every day, then this might be for you!   
What You Will Do:  
  • Takes and records vital signs and conditions such as weight, height and skin condition.
  • Assists with details such as listing clothing and valuables, making introductions and helping with admissions and discharges.
  • Assists residents in hygiene and grooming including baths, hair care, oral hygiene and skin care.
  • Performs perineal care.
  • Assists residents with feeding. Charts intake of food and fluids.
  • Changes bed linens; cares for personal laundry.
  • Assists residents in maintaining a clutter free, safe, and sanitary environment in the resident's apartment.
  • Maintains a variety of basic reports and charts residents' ADL daily; gives reports to licensed personnel prior to shift change.
  • May assist residents in communicating and coordinating with the clinical team to arrange for provider visits and referrals, as necessary.
  • Escorts patients to and from appointments or trips as needed.
  • Lifts, transfers and ambulates patients by using proper lifting and resident safety techniques.
  • Reports all sudden changes to licensed staff immediately.
  • Assists Life Enrichment Department as assigned.
  • Completes mandatory online training.
  • May handle and administer medications, ensuring compliance with Sequoia Living policies and procedures.
  • Counts controlled substances with another Med Tech or Nurse at the beginning and end of the shift.
  • Ensures controlled substances are kept under double lock at all times.
  • Performs other work as assigned.

Who You Are: 
  • You enjoy working with people and have exceptional interpersonal skills. You can use tact and courtesy in dealing with residents under sometimes trying conditions. You can show patience and understanding. You enjoy variety in your day and enjoy a fast-paced environment. 
  • High school diploma or equivalent. Must have current preferred CPR and First Aid certifications or be able to obtain within 60 days from date of hire. CA RCFE Medication Technician certification required to perform Med Tech duties. Experience working with the geriatric population and persons with cognitive deficits is highly preferred.
