Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Tax Associate to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will assist in developing and coordinating training programs, manage tax-related processes, and support both field operations and seasonal support staff.
As a Tax Associate, you will:
- Assist with Training Development:
- Coordinate with tax processing supervisors and LMS administrators to develop and update various types of training, including online, webinar, and classroom sessions
- Assist in creating training materials such as books and online reference manuals
- Support the Director in Various Functions:
- Aid in managing Tax bonus and Tax Incentive Programs
- Assist with ECS (KOFAX and ONBASE) workflows
- Review and evaluate current vendors and explore alternatives
- Support revenue reconciliation, amendment processing, IRS letters (1040 Protect), and IRS e-Services (EFIN Maintenance
- Coordinate with Compliance Processing Team:
- Process paperwork on accepted returns during the regular season
- Manage IRS/State Credentials:
- Obtain, renew, and maintain IRS/State credentials related to tax preparation
- Maintain and review Qualifying Questionnaires for PTIN status
- Manage IRS Continuing Education for PTIN holders and coordinate with the IRS CE Office
- Support Field Operations and Compliance:
- Obtain/renew PTIN for all eligible employees and maintain PTIN Welcome Letters
- Monitor Help desk phone logs for accurate record-keeping
- Provide reports on tax training, PTINs, compliance, and other related items
- Assist Tax Processing Supervisors and seasonal support team members with queries and issue research
- Manage random audits in the field and handle special projects as needed
- Additional Responsibilities:
- Maintain prompt and regular attendance
You could be a great addition as Tax Associate if you have:
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including extended hours and Saturdays as needed
- Prior income tax preparation experience preferred
- Working knowledge of Individual Income Tax Law
- Advance proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Attention to detail and comfort with presenting/training both in-person and online
- Ability to meet IRS requirements for obtaining and maintaining a PTIN and participating in e-Services as a “responsible official”
