** This position will be based at Samtec Headquarters in New Albany, IN **

Summary/Objective:  The Yield Engineer is a self-motivated contributor working closely with process engineer(s) to monitor and investigate process yields, cost, and process stability and capability.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities
  1. Yield analysis of Glass Core Technology products
  2. Support yield investigations from initial discovery to root cause failure analysis with data analytics
  3. Use production data and production system data to investigate tool, process step, and operator dependencies on yields and excursions.
  4. Perform large dataset / AI investigations to identify promising “shift left” screens and optimizations that could increase yields and catch fallout earlier in the process.
  5. Data extraction, summarization, prediction, correlation, and regression analysis.
  6. Report yield results to cross-functional teams with varying knowledge base
  7. Develop dashboards, tools, methods, and resources to ensure higher yields
  8. Build positive working relationships with internal partners such as Operations, Product, Process, Test, Quality, and Failure Analysis as appropriate

Required Experience 
  1. Experience with data extraction, manipulation, and storage
  2. Understanding of statistics, process control, and reliability standards (Telcordia, JEDEC, MIL)
  3. Demonstrated hands on experience in assembly process flow is required as is an understanding of the equipment and materials that are used in the industry.
  4. Expertise in minitab/SAS-JMP/similar data analysis package is desired.
Preferred Education
  1. BS or greater in Engineering, Materials, Statistics or the Physical Sciences or similar field.
