Premier Early Childhood Education Partners is a private early childhood education organization seeking a Traveling Painter Lead! This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced professional who takes pride in delivering high-quality work while helping maintain safe, welcoming environments for children and staff across our nationwide network of childcare centers.
 
To be QUALIFIED for this position, we require 3+ years of professional painting experience and 1+ year in a supervisory or crew lead role preferred. Experience working in schools, daycare centers, healthcare facilities, or similar environments is strongly preferred. Candidates must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
 
Compensation: $70,000 – $80,000 annually, based on experience
 
Travel: This role requires 90–100% travel across our nationwide network of childcare centers, including frequent overnight stays. Most painting work will occur after hours (typically after 6:00 PM) to minimize disruption to daily center operations. Candidates must live within driving distance of Chicago O’Hare International Airport to allow for flexibility and accessibility when traveling on short notice.

Main Job Responsibilities:
  • Lead and supervise travelling painting crews of 2–5 team members across multiple daycare facility locations.
  • Delegate tasks and manage daily workflow to ensure projects remain on schedule and within scope.
  • Train crew members on proper painting techniques, safety procedures, and company standards.
  • Perform surface preparation including patching, sanding, caulking, and priming prior to painting.
  • Apply paints, stains, and specialty coatings across classrooms, hallways, offices, and play areas.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure high-quality finishes appropriate for childcare environments.
  • Maintain strict safety standards in accordance with OSHA regulations and company safety procedures.
  • Ensure proper ventilation and safe storage of materials, including the use of low-VOC or child-safe products when required.
  • Maintain clean, organized job sites that remain free of hazards and safe for childcare facilities.
  • Serve as the on-site liaison between company leadership and daycare administrators during projects.
  • Provide daily progress updates and maintain documentation related to project completion.
  • Manage materials, equipment transportation, and inventory while traveling between facilities.
