Job Summary
The Group Lead for P&C Data and Analytics will play a critical role in shaping data-driven decision-making across global P&C operations.

This position will own the end-to-end delivery of P&C data products (from source systems into governed, analytics-ready data sets and semantic models . It translates HR definitions and business requirements into implementable specifications and delivers the semantic modelling working with data engineers and architects and business domains. 
You will personally technically design and deliver global data and data science and advanced analytics to senior P&C leaders and the Executive Committee and Board.
 
Accountabilities
Key accountabilities include but are not limited to:
  • Lead the technical delivery for P&C data sets from source systems (i.e. IFS) into Fabric/Azure/Synapse: landing – curated – semantic. Define and maintain the HR data model and the onboarding approach for future systems and model development. Produce implementation ready specifications for engineers/modellers. 
  • Semantic model enablement: Own the P&C portion of the certified semantic layer design (measures, calculations, role-based access). Support the build and maintenance of data models that deliver P&C metrics.
  • Data quality, reconciliation and certification controls: implement and run the P&C data quality work in Azure and using other data quality tools such as Purview. Define reconciliation routes to named operational reports. Own the certified reports.
  • P&C Data platforms and source system integration – evaluate source systems to enable accurate and timely, consolidated Group/Global data into one consistent quality view.
  • Lead the design and delivery of trusted data, technical specifications and data models across Azure, Fabric and Purview to provide trusted, integrated, secure and scalable data for consumption, including prioritisation, standards, delivery approach and adoption metrics.
  • Work with data engineers to define data requirements, transformation logic, joins, keys, hierarchies and reconciliation rules, ensuring traceability from requirements to semantic model to published certified data/reports. · Partner with stakeholders to shape use cases, success measures and iterative plans.
  •  Be at the forefront of the latest tools, technologies and techniques in data, reporting and analytics.
  • Deliver AI-enabled analytics and data science.
 
Skills
  • Expertise in semantic data modelling, including physical, dimensional and logical. Highly skilled in semantic modelling and how to build consistent metrics and reporting layers. Deep understanding of BI and semantic modelling patterns and how they fit into enterprise architecture.
  • Advanced technical skills in the hands-on delivery of  using Microsoft Azure and other modern tools to deliver quality data through a data lakehouse.
  • Strong data visualisation and UX principles; ability to critique and uplift data and reporting quality
  • Working knowledge and skills in data science, AI and machine learning applications in analytics and reporting, including responsible use controls.
  • Passionate about data and innovative to enable RES to stay ahead of and implement global best practice in modern, scalable and future proof reporting and analytics.
 
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelors Degree in data analytics, data science etc.
  • Extensive experience in data and analytics, with a track record of delivering secure, high-value data
  • Track record delivering executive certified data with high adoption and measurable business impact. Consistent delivery of strong outcomes/outputs and ROI.
  • Extensive Experience implementing Microsoft Azure and self-service data platform frameworks at scale through the consumption layer.
  • Experience in data standardization frameworks for harmonizing data definitions, taxonomies, and formats across regions. Must have worked previously in a technical data team, working with a Chief Data Officer and have mentored/led other members of staff.
  • Experience in delivering your own data science, advanced analytics and AI-assisted analytics capabilities and integration with governed data platforms.
    Experience in working closely with data engineers, architects and business domain leads to design and deliver technical specifications and model design. Able to deliver KPIs, measures, dimensions and reusable business logic.
    Strong stakeholder and team experience. Experience and skills working in a small, fast paced and agile team.
