Position Overview:

The Senior Treasury Manager, Private Fund, plays a key role in building and executing the treasury function for our private fund business. This role develops fund-specific policies, procedures, and infrastructure to support the fund’s legal cash flow structure and transforms cash forecasting, capital deployment, and investor transactions. The Senior Treasury Manager partners with internal teams, including investor relations, tax, fund accounting, and IT to design and implement treasury operations that align with compliance requirements and evolving business needs. 

Key Responsibilities:

Treasury Operations & Strategy

  • Lead the design of the treasury infrastructure for the private fund business, including execution of cash flow structures and investor payment methodologies.
  • Manage fund liquidity, ensuring efficient capital deployment, forecasting, and optimization of fund cash flows.
  • Oversee electronic payment processing for all domestic and international private fund accounts, addressing investor wire instructions and multi-currency transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including AIFMD, FATCA, and KYC/AML, in setting up and managing investor payments.
  • Oversee the wire batch posting process to ensure ERP-to-bank reconciliation and automation of cash processes.
  • Partner with IT to enhance Yardi’s treasury capabilities and integrate with banking platforms.
  • Lead the setup and ongoing management of subscription lines of credit and other fund-level financing initiatives.

Accounting & Compliance

  • Ensure that private fund treasury-related journal entries for various banking transactions contain the necessary support.
  • Develop and implement treasury policies, procedures, and controls to ensure regulatory and investor reporting accuracy.
  • Collaborate with legal, tax, fund accounting, internal audit, and compliance teams to navigate fund structure complexities and reporting obligations.
  • Provide direction to internal/external auditors related to treasury activities/audits.

Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Serve as a key treasury liaison with investors, fund accounting, tax, legal, and IT teams to align treasury functions with fund operations.
  • Work closely with the Real Estate Investment Management (RIM) team to ensure treasury processes align with fund investment strategies.
  • Educate internal teams on treasury best practices and fund-specific treasury considerations.

Process Improvement & System Implementation

  • Lead initiatives to automate, scale, and enhance treasury operations for the private fund business.
  • Drive system improvements, including the implementation of ERP system enhancements and integration with banking platforms. 

Qualifications: 

  • A qualified candidate is typically expected to have 8+ years of treasury experience, including 2+ years in private fund treasury. 
  • Experience with fund structures, capital calls, investor distributions, and subscription lines.
  • Strong knowledge of AIFMD, FATCA, KYC/AML, and fund compliance requirements.
  • Strategic thinker who can develop treasury operations for a new fund business.
  • Ability to design, implement, and manage treasury processes, policies, and procedures from scratch.
  • Strong financial acumen, analytical skills, and ability to handle complex multi-entity fund structures.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with investors, finance, tax, legal, accounting, internal audit, and IT teams.
  • Ability to work independently in an evolving environment and drive process improvements.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.

Preferred:

  • Experience in real estate, private equity, or investment management.
  • Hands-on experience with Yardi, Kyriba, and PredictAP software.
  • Experience setting up treasury infrastructure for new businesses or fund structures.
  • Experience managing multi-currency transactions and international payments.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, financial modeling, and ERP/banking system integrations.

 

What you will get in return:

The base salary for this role is in the range of $127,921 - $191,901.  

You may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and an annual discretionary stock award, (dependent on date of hire) to be discussed during the initial phone interview. Base salary and total compensation package determined by the candidate's experience, knowledge, education, skills, performance, and abilities, as well as internal equity, company performance, and alignment with market data.
