Realty Income is hiring an AVP, Financial Quality Control who will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring the effectiveness of quality control processes within the organization. This role involves collaborating with various departments to identify, assess, and mitigate financial reporting and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance risks, ensuring the utmost conformity with SEC reporting standards and internal control policies.
 
What You Will Be Working On:
Financial Quality Assurance:
  • Inspection: Regularly inspect work papers and draft filings to ensure accuracy of financial information in all Company filings.
  • Ongoing Monitoring: Regularly monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of controls to ensure they are functioning as intended.
  • Control Implementation: Assist in the design and implementation of internal controls to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data. Serve as a “second line of defense” responsible for reviewing high-risk areas of the reporting cycle to prevent financial statement misstatements and SOX deficiencies.
Risk Management and Compliance:
  • Risk Monitoring: Continuously monitor financial risks and ensure that appropriate controls are in place to mitigate them.
  • Compliance Oversight: Coordinate with legal and compliance teams to ensure that all financial activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies.
Support and Guidance:
  • Advisory Role: Provide guidance and support to operational management in identifying and managing financial risks and implementing controls.
  • Training: Conduct training sessions for accounting staff on risk management and compliance procedures.
Reporting and Communication:
  • Risk Reporting: Provide senior management with regular reports on quality assurance activities and the status of corrective actions to ensure transparency and accountability.
Collaboration:
  • Inter- and intra-departmental Coordination: Work closely with team members in accounting and other departments, including finance operations, internal audit, corporate finance, and property and asset management, to ensure a cohesive approach to risk management and compliance.
  • Auditor Liaison: Liaise with external and internal auditors to ensure compliance and address any issues that arise.
Continuous Improvement:
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance the quality control function.
 
What We Need From You: 
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Risk Management, or related field.
  • Certified Public Accountant license.
  • We expect a minimum of 7 years experience in risk management, internal audit, financial compliance, or quality control is required.
  • Big Four audit experience is preferred but is not required.

The base salary for this role is in the range of $140,002 - $227,626. You may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and an annual discretionary stock award, (dependent on date of hire) to be discussed during the initial phone interview. Base salary and total compensation package determined by the candidate's experience, knowledge, education, skills, performance, and abilities, as well as internal equity, company performance, and alignment with market data.
